Snowsport England's CEO Moves On

Snowsport England announces that Maggie Still will be stepping down from her role as CEO in October 2024. Maggie has had a tremendously positive experience with the organization and expresses her gratitude to everyone in the sport for their support and collaboration.

Maggie Still said “I would like to thank everyone in the sport for a very positive experience. The Snowsport England Board and executive team have been brilliant. We have shaped and started to make inroads into the delivery of the organisation’s strategic objectives and have worked with the sport to develop a set of values that will underpin Snowsport in England for years to come.

"I have loved my year in the sport, and we now need someone who can continue the good work of the team and embed the work of the Board and Committees. I will be taking up an opportunity with British Ice Skating, where I am looking forward to focussing on one exciting new role, including working with the Home Nations in a British context.

"Thank you to all staff and volunteers who have been so generous with their support over the past twelve months, and I look forward to following your successes in years to come.”

Dominic McGonigal, Chair of Snowsport England added  “Maggie joined Snowsport England at a crucial time, when we were kickstarting our 10-year strategy. There was a huge amount of work to do to make us capable of delivering on Leadership, Talent, and Participation long term.

"She has done a fantastic job for Snowsport England, successfully stabilising the organisation, delivering the second year of our strategy and creating new resources to make the best use of our expert volunteers and coaches. British Ice Skating are lucky to have her! We wish her well in this next career move.”

Snowsport England wishes Maggie all the best in her new role with British Ice Skating and looks forward to seeing the continued positive impact she will have in her new position.

In a statement British Ice Skating said:

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Maggie Still as our next Chief Executive Officer. Maggie will start in post in October 2024, departing her current roles as CEO for both Scottish Squash and Snowsport England, and bringing a wealth of experience in the British sport sector with her.

"A former international athlete and senior performance coach herself, Maggie has worked at a number of NGBs across areas including participation, workforce development, athlete welfare, organisational partnerships and coaching. 

"As an executive leader she has overseen significant changes and major successes, including bringing the World Squash Championships to Scotland, delivering World, European and Commonwealth medals and working to prepare Squash for Olympic Inclusion.

"Maggie will be joining British Ice Skating at a time of exciting change and organisational ambition. An accredited executive coach with a commitment to collaborative working, she will provide important leadership for the BIS team, while her extensive Board-level experience of delivering strategic objectives will play a key role in the delivery of our 10-year strategy."
