Schladming-Dachstein Will Once Again Be The Centre Of Brass Music For Five Days

The Austrian holiday region of Schladming-Dachstein will once again be all about brass music next week.

• From 9 to 13 July, the internationally renowned music festival will take place for the 25th time
• Around 1,500 musicians from all over the world meet in Styria to make music together
• Colorful brass music program for locals and guests: From classical to Bohemian sounds to pop and rock

From Tuesday, around 1,500 musicians from all over the world will meet in the Styrian Ennstal as part of the “MID EUROPE" music festival (9 to 13 July). This year, the major event is celebrating its 25th anniversary and is presenting itself in a new look in its external appearance - red becomes green.

The musical appearance has not changed, however, and continues to impress with stylistic diversity at the highest level. Music from the genres of classical, traditional Bohemian sounds, swing, rocky SKA sounds and pop bring the region to life at numerous concerts and events. Brass music in all facets and genres, musical highlights and marching shows, open-air and church concerts, world music and music from all over the world - this is what the MID EUROPE brass music festival has stood for for more than two decades.

Many sound highlights for young and old

The Bavarian Police Orchestra will provide a brilliant start to the opening concert on July 9th in the Schladming congress. An extraordinary performance will be offered on Wednesday evening (July 10th) under the title "The Dream of an Austrian Reservist" by the Upper Austrian Military Band and the Grand Ducal Military Band of Luxembourg.

Other highlights include the "Kids in Concert" event (July 10th), which this year has the motto "Sounds in Uniform", the "Schladming Town Festival - Long Night" ( July 11th) and the anniversary concerts on Friday (July 12th) and Saturday (July 13th).

Of course, there is much more music from all over the world to experience live - at the concerts in the Schladming congress and at the church concerts in Haus im Ennstal. This year's participants include the South African College Highschool Concert Band, the Koninklijke Harmonie de Berggalm from the Netherlands, the Charleston Southern University Holy City Consort Band from the USA, the Forchheim Wind Philharmonic from Germany and the "LuNo Winds" Biosphere Wind Orchestra from Lungau, Austria.
