Purgatory Resort Welcomes Carve Wars Chainsaw Art Competition

Purgatory Resort announces the return of the Carve Wars chainsaw art competition, August 2 - 4, 2024. This family-friendly event is free and will be held in the Village Plaza base area at Purgatory Resort.

Carve Wars is a chainsaw art competition featuring the world’s best chainsaw artists as they transform blocks of wood into works of art. The one-of-a-kind art pieces are sold upon completion at live auctions, with a portion of the proceeds going to support local nonprofits. On Saturday, event attendees can purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win a free carving. Winners will be announced after 3:00 pm during the auction. Guests can also bid on their favorite pieces during the live auctions on Saturday and Sunday.

• Carving: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Saturday, August 3:

• Carving: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
• Auction: 3:00 pm

Sunday, August 4:

• Carving: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
• Auction: 2:00 pm
