So that the discoveries in the Silvretta adventure space can also be compatible with climate protection, the region has entered into a cooperation with tree.ly, a pioneer in the development of regional forest climate protection projects. Silvretta Montafon, tree.ly and Stand Montafon, the largest forest owner in Vorarlberg, are now working together on ecological measures to promote the sustainable management of forests and to maintain and even expand their CO2 storage capacity. When purchasing their ski ticket, Silvretta Montafon guests have the opportunity to support this project and thus make a contribution to climate protection. The financial resources generated from this flow entirely into the Montafon project forest project via tree.ly. Because in Silvretta Montafon, the top priority is to make healthy nature accessible and to preserve it in the future - for residents as well as for guests.
MOON Lounge: Parking in Vorarlberg's largest e-charging garage
Silvretta Montafon has entered into another cooperation with MOON Power GmbH - a company that develops charging concepts for the mobility of the future as well as energy concepts for companies. MOON Power's mission is to ensure that electromobility finds its way into people's everyday lives. This means that guests who travel to Silvretta Montafon in their fully electric car receive a special service: In addition to the 600 parking spaces, the new underground car park in Austria's sportiest ski area now also offers an exclusive MOON Lounge, which consists of 50 parking spaces including a charging station for electric vehicles. A parking ticket for a whole day in the MOON Lounge costs visitors 25 euros, with charging electricity included in the price. The parking ticket can be booked easily in the Silvretta Montafon app or via the online shop. From the underground car park you then take an escalator directly into Austria's first autonomously operated ten-seater gondola lift and then up the mountain - straight into snow fun. In addition, the MOON Lounge has also been used increasingly by Silvretta Montafon employees since autumn 2023. Thanks to the cooperation with BMW Unterberger, the internal fleet is also gradually being converted to fully electric. The company recently purchased four new electric BMWs from the X series.
The Green Ticket: the cleanest and easiest way to skiing fun
As action-packed and adventurous as the winter sports opportunities in Silvretta Montafon are, the journey is environmentally friendly, sustainable and comfortable - especially with the Green Ticket. It is simply booked online and the lift ticket includes travel by bus and train from all over Vorarlberg and from the border stations in Tyrol (St. Anton), Germany (Lindau) and Switzerland (Buchs/St. Margrethen). In addition, there is a ten percent discount on rental equipment and one free ski wax. But all winter sports enthusiasts who come to Austria's sportiest ski area by (electric) car also benefit from a quick and easy journey thanks to good connections. There are no mountain passes here and you can safely leave snow chains at home. There are enough parking spaces on site anyway - thanks to the large underground car park with 600 parking spaces including the MOON Lounge with 50 charging stations for electric cars. The principle works based on an algorithm that recalculates the prices for ski tickets every day. Factors such as the season (high or low season), the day of the week, the booking date and the demand for the respective day play a role.
