New Lift Planned For Switzerland's Les Marecottes-La Creusaz

TéléMarécottes SA needs to replace its venerable gondola lift, which provides access to La Creusaz in both winter and summer. The current facility, built in 1968 and renovated in the 90s, needs to be replaced as it no longer meets current technological and normative standards. Since it is the oldest Swiss gondola lift of this type still in operation, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find spare parts and plan maintenance work.

The new facility will be more comfortable and faster, its cabins for up to eight people will be more spacious and less susceptible to wind. The route will remain the same, but with the construction of the new TMR station in Les Marécottes, a new direct connection will be created (pedestrian tunnel and elevator).

TéléMarécottes' share capital must be increased by CHF 2.5 million in order to ensure the financing of the investments. The new gondola lift will cost around CHF 13 million and the future connection between the train station and the gondola lift will cost CHF 8 million.
