Bogus Basin To Host Wing Ski Day For Approximately 1,000 Airmen From Mountain Home Air Force Base

Bogus Basin, the non-profit recreation area located 16 miles from downtown Boise, is excited to announce the upcoming Wing Ski Day event on Thursday, February 15th, 2024. Approximately 1,000 Airmen and their family members from nearby Mountain Home Air Force Base will gather for a day of camaraderie and outdoor activities.

Wing Ski Day, a longtime tradition at the area, serves as a gesture of appreciation towards the Airmen and their families for their commitment and service to the nation. The event, which is part of a series of Comprehensive Airman Fitness Days planned for the year, offers Airmen from the 366th Fighter Wing an opportunity to strengthen resiliency and relationships while enjoying the slopes of Bogus Basin through skiing, snowboarding, and tubing activities.

“We look forward to hosting these dedicated Airmen for a well-deserved day of fun and activity on the mountain. Our team is honored to continue this tradition and to extend our appreciation to everyone from the 366th Fighter Wing for their commitment and their services.” said Susan Saad, Director, Community & Customer Relations

With a wing population of approximately 5,100 military and civilian members, along with 3,500 family members, Wing Ski Day provides a unique opportunity for a special community to come together and enjoy the natural beauty at Bogus Basin. The area extends discounts on tickets, rentals, and lessons to all participants.

In addition to Wing Ski Day 2024, Bogus Basin acknowledges the service of military personnel by offering ticket and season pass discounts to all service members who provide proof of military status. The non-profit also collaborates with other veterans organizations such as Mission43, which supports Idaho’s post-9/11 veterans and military spouses through educational, employment, and engagement opportunities.
