Vialattea Opens For The 2024/2025 Season
Vialattea, one of Europe’s largest and most renowned Italian-French ski resorts, has today opened for the 2024/25 winter season.
The season will mark one of Vialattea’s longest ever operating schedules with 129 days across five months, from Friday 06 December to Sunday 13 April, with an exciting schedule of events including the women’s Giant Slalom and Slalom events in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup on February 22-23.
New for this season is a combined Vialattea and Bardo season pass, valid on all slopes in the Vialattea ski area and neighbouring Bardonecchia. Additionally, those who purchase a 6-day Vialattea ski pass will receive a complimentary one-day extension to Bardonecchia.
As a cold front comes in, Vialattea’s extensive snowmaking system is in full operation enhancing the natural snow cover. In particular, the new high-performance TechnoAlpin snow guns recently installed in the Sestriere area with the latest technology are producing an excellent amount of snow.
With 9 green, 97 blue, 163 red, and 36 black runs, Vialattea caters to all abilities, and offers a diverse mix of slopes for skiers to explore. The resort has a transport capacity of over 75,000 people per hour, with 70 ski lifts, including cable cars, gondolas, telemix, magic carpets, and chairlifts, providing a smooth experience for all visitors.
Vialattea is among Europe’s largest ski resorts, comprising of 8 distinct locations: Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Sansicario, Cesana, Claviere, Pragelato, Oulx in Italy and Montgenèvre in France. With its highest point at 2,800m and a total of 400km of skiable area across 300 slopes, Vialattea caters to skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, with ample area for beginners to find their feet, while also being home to a high number of red runs for intermediate skiers and allowing expert skiers to follow the tracks of great champions. Notably, Vialattea has hosted a number of prestigious sporting events over the years, including the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics.
