Monte Tamaro SA: From Ski Slopes to Summer Adventures

Monte Tamaro SA, founded in 1972 by Egidio Cattaneo (1925–2002), initially developed as a ski resort for locals. Since 2003, it has focused exclusively on summer tourism, attracting thousands of visitors yearly with attractions like the ropes course, toboggan run, and the Mario Botta-designed Santa Maria degli Angeli church. Under the leadership of Nicola Cattaneo, grandson of the founder, the new gondola marks a significant step forward in the mountain's legacy.

The valley station will feature photovoltaic panels for a more sustainable energy supply. The drive system is underground to minimize noise, and a rubber conveyor belt system allows for adjustable cabin speeds, stops, and convoy formations within station areas.
