Wooden Cow Attracts Young Guests To Kuhtai

Since this summer, there has been a special attraction in Kühtai: one of the world's largest mother cows with a calf made of local larch wood is waiting at 2,334 meters above sea level.

Kühtai is known as the highest winter sports resort in Austria and attracts more than just skiers, snowboarders and tobogganers. In summer, too, many mountain lovers come from the hot valleys to the cooler heights. Kühtai now offers a new attraction: a 6.5-meter-high mother cow with calf that can be walked on and played with. Children can climb the cow using ladders and rope stairs and slide down again on slides. In addition to the large cow, there is also a calf that can be used as a play device. During production, attention was paid to regionality and local larch wood was used, which is characterized by its strength, among other things.

The high alpine cow family is complemented by three-meter-high wooden letters. The letters form the word "KÜHTAI" and offer opportunities for climbing, swinging, sliding and hiding. They are not only play equipment and seating, but also popular photo subjects. The entire facility was planned and built by the Tyrolean company Sunkid, which specializes in leisure attractions.

There are also two wooden ball tracks that are 30 and 40 meters long. These tracks playfully demonstrate elements of alpine farming such as hay rakes, ribbon fences, hay racks and butter churns and also make cowbells ring.

"Summer is also becoming increasingly important for our hiking and skiing area. We have created a harmonious and sustainable attraction that fits in very well with our high alpine landscape and will particularly delight our young guests," emphasizes Managing Director Philip Haslwanter.

The new Kühtai summer attraction is located right next to the DreiSeen-Hütte at 2,334 meters. The new children's adventure world can be reached from the mountain station of the DreiSeenBahn in just a few minutes on foot on a family-friendly path.
