Pizol: Project “Snowmaking 4.0” Imaking Progress
The last pipes are currently being laid out and welded at the reservoir. Filling will begin shortly. At the same time, work is being carried out at full speed on the pipeline network and the new pump house is being equipped with the latest technology.
YEAR OF CONSTRUCTION 2024
- Completion of lake including low water area
- Continuation of the installations Pumpenhaus Obersäss and Twärchamm
- Creation of a pipeline network for the steep slope of the Zanuz piste with 20 snowmaking shafts
- Construction of a pipeline network from Pizolhütte to Chalchofen and connection to the existing Gaffia network. 39 snowmaking shafts will be installed here for continuous snowmaking

THE PROJECT
"Snowmaking 4.0" ensures that they can offer a 30-meter-wide and 60-cm-thick slope made of artificial snow on the Maienberg - Furt - Gaffia - Pizolhütte - Laufböden - Pardiel - Prodboden - Schwamm route.
It includes the Twärchamm reservoir, the pipeline system, the pumping stations, the snow guns and all other necessary installations. This means that we are able to offer our guests an offer on all of the facilities throughout the entire winter season - regardless of the natural snow.
