Winter At Arula Chalets, Lech - What’s New For This Season
The Arula Chalets announce exclusive partnership with Sharky & George, a four-night ‘Fresh Tracks’ heli-skiing experience with expert guidance from former world ski champions and an ‘Off the Slopes’ short break for guests to enjoy the world-renowned resort of Lech.
The Arula Chalets is an alpine hideaway, perfectly positioned above the idyllic village of Lech with ski-in/ski-out access, world-class service and unrivalled in-chalet wellness facilities. This winter, the adjoining chalets will introduce an exclusive partnership with Sharky & George, the UK’s most revered family entertainers, to curate bespoke itineraries for the littlest of guests. For ski enthusiasts, a four-night ‘Fresh Tracks’ experience will see guests join former world ski champions for thrilling descents, while the ‘Off the Slopes’ short break will showcase a different side of the mountain for non-skiers with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and ice skating
For Families: Sharky & George Launch in the Snow
New for winter 2023/24, The Arula Chalets will team up with Sharky & George as the brand announces its very first chalet partnership. Specialising in immersive activities for children, guests staying at The Arula Chalets can work with the team to craft bespoke itineraries that find the fun in everything and elevate the ultimate family experience.
Making the most of the chalet facilities and Lech’s natural playground, action-packed fun and games await. From movie making and screening in the chalet’s cinema room, explosive science workshops, and hands on cooking and chocolate making classes with the Head Chef, to treasure hunts, talent shows and discos complete with UV lights, lasers and smoke machines. Embracing the outdoors, children will love exploring this winter paradise with horse drawn sleigh rides, sledging, as well as snowshoeing and igloo building. Come the festive period, Sharky & George is on hand for bundles of magic and mischief that will have the whole family getting in the Christmas spirit, whether it’s decorating stockings, tree ornaments and reindeer antlers, building gingerbread houses, or delighting in a visit from Father Christmas and his trickster elves.
For Thrill Seekers: Fresh Tracks ‘Heli-Skiing’ Experience
This new four-night experience will see ski aficionados fly high with first-class heli-skiing offering untapped access to pristine powder. With Lech being the only ski resort in Austria where heli-skiing is permitted, guests of The Arula Chalets will receive exclusive ‘first up’ morning access to Schneetäli and Mehlsack to guarantee fresh tracks, while kitted out with the very best equipment, thanks to The Arula Chalet’s exclusive partnership with dps. Fusing space age carbon technology with groundbreaking shapes, dps create the world’s most advanced skis and with this partnership, guests can choose from the following ranges: Pow Surf, Freeride & All-Mountain, Backcountry or Freestyle.
Guests can also take advantage of Arula’s special access to a roster of former ski champions to accompany them including Olympic Gold Medallist Franz Klammer, candidly known as ‘the king of the downhill’ who can take guests through the six key components of downhill skiing: technique, courage, speed, risk, physical condition and judgement, and double freeriding World Champion Nadine Wallner – who first took to skis in the Arlberg region –
who can give first-hand knowledge of Lech’s Mountain terrain, snow and weather conditions.
Come evening, in-chalet wellness facilities including indoor swimming pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath and infra-red cabin tend to aching muscles, as well as the choice of hot stone and deep tissue massages, Augustinus Bader signature facials, or restorative evening yoga.
For Non-Skiers: Off the Slopes Weekend Break
This new four-night weekend break will see up to eight guests take over exclusive use of Arula 2 to indulge in all Lech has to offer, off the slopes. With 27 kilometres of cross-country trails, guests can improve endurance and strength with two-hours of guided cross-country skiing where gradual climbs, mountain sprints and short descents await. Continuing at a gentler pace, Lech has long been considered as a mecca for snowshoeing; a unique hiking
experience suitable for all levels of fitness while affording far-reaching views and encouraging deep relaxation. Guests can also enjoy ice skating in Zürs and a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the village of Lech, either by day or under the starlit sky come nightfall. Back at the chalet, guests can nurture the mind and body, joining yoga therapist Anna Kanonier on an ayurvedic journey. Highly personalised, guests can choose from an energizing morning flow, a restorative evening yin, or embrace the yogic tradition of mantra yoga, using sacred sounds for inner stillness and contemplation.
