Spectacular action and exciting races are guaranteed for spectators along the route and in the Planai finish stadium, as the trails in the Styrian Ennstal are considered to be some of the most demanding and exciting downhill courses in the world. The Bike School Pekoll and the newly founded Bike Club Schladming-Dachstein are pooling their resources and organizing the two races in order to offer young racing enthusiasts a professional platform.

The competitions will take place in categories from U11 to U19 over three action-packed days from September 22nd to 24th, 2023 and promise outstanding performances from the emerging talents. Admission is free, all information about the program is available online at www.bikeschoolpekoll.com/rookiescup.

The biggest challenge awaits in the Schladming Bike Park. The previous stops in Germany, Austria and Italy already demanded a lot from the participants of the Rookies Cup this season. The biggest challenge to date, but also the most prestigious event, is now taking place on the Planai this weekend. It is not for nothing that the famous route in Schladming has long been part of the calendar of the UCI Downhill World Cup and the iXS European Downhill Cup. After the successful premiere last year, the event returns to Schladming-Dachstein.

The most talented young athletes will come again to compete on the Planai in the battle for the title of “IXS International Rookie Champion”. The Planai finish stadium and the route along the famous finish slope offer spectators exciting insights. A third of the route can be easily observed from the finish stadium. Culinary delights are provided on site and the team stands can also be viewed. Bike trails in the region open until the beginning of November Whether mountain bikers, e-bikers, leisure bikers or sporty downhillers: the Austrian region of Schladming-Dachstein has long since established itself as an absolute top destination for bike vacationers and trail fans.

In addition to the Schladming Bike Park on the Planai with a varied range of routes and 40 kilometers of trails for beginners as well as professional downhillers, 17 kilometers of trails on the Reiteralm now enable sporty biking fun for beginners, families and enduro bikers. New this summer, another trail park was opened between Weißenbach bei Haus and Aich - the “Singletrack Haus-Aich” is the first of this very special kind in the German-speaking area. The particularly environmentally friendly construction of the trails and the narrow cycle paths result in varied routes that meander spectacularly through the trees. All bike offers in the Schladming-Dachstein adventure region are open until the beginning of November. All information about this can be found at www.schladming-dachstein.at/bike.
