Outdoor Media Summit Announces Editor’s Choice Awards For Best New Outdoor Products
On the first day of Outdoor Media Summit, 60 top gear review journalists spent an afternoon previewing the hottest new outdoor gear for 2024. Top outdoor brands including Patagonia, Costa, Osprey, Hydro Flask and KEEN, displayed their new products to the media during New Gear Speed Date, a musical chairs-like gear showcase event. Journalists rotated through each brand’s booth, product pitches in a speed date style manner. At the end of the event, journalists voted on the products they thought were worthy of an Editor’s Choice award.
After tallying several dozen voting cards, the winners were announced during the Outdoor Media Awards ceremony on the third day of Outdoor Media Summit. The winning brands and their products are listed below.

These Editor’s Choice Awards are unique in that they represent a consensus among the gear review community. Staff editors from publications like Gear Junkie, Forbes, Outside, Trails Magazine, Engearment and BLISTER Reviews, participated in New Gear Speed Date and submitted votes.
New Gear Speed Date is an annual gear showcase event that happens on the first day of Outdoor Media Summit. It was designed by a focus group of top gear review media who agreed that they still want to touch and see new gear in person, but prefer to spend an afternoon doing so, not multiple days. This event officially kicks off Outdoor Media Summit, the professional conference for outdoor media and marketers.
Outdoor Media Summit is where the brightest minds in media and marketing gather to share secrets, forecast the future and make more money. The 2024 conference will take place in Missoula Montana, October 13-15, 2024. Tickets are almost sold out.
