KitzSki To Complete New Lifts In Time For Season Opening
A good four months have passed since the start of construction work to renew the F6 Gauxjoch and F7 Trattenbach facilities. Thanks to the construction work being carried out according to plan, the finishing touches are already underway and the investment volume is also within budget.
The construction site management as well as the care and optimal cooperation of all construction companies involved are exceptionally good. The ecological building inspectorate regularly inspects the construction work and praises the great commitment to sustainability. For example, all construction machines used on site are fueled exclusively with HVO diesel fuel; The abbreviation HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and translates as hydrogenated vegetable oil.
Opening date just in time for the start of the 2023/24 winter season
Many guests are already curious about what happened at the Bärenbadkogel during the summer months. Some loyal KitzSki fans took advantage of the opportunity to hike to the construction site and are excited and looking forward to the 2023/24 winter season.
The new 6-seater chairlifts Gauxjoch and Trattenbach will be officially approved in mid-November and are therefore ready for the 2023/24 winter season. KitzSki maintains very high quality standards, which are visible in the two new 6-seater chairlifts. The equipment of both chairlifts promises ride comfort at its finest: premium individual seats with intelligent seat heating, a slightly tinted weather protection hood, powerful speeds of up to 6 m/s and a theoretical transport capacity of 2,400 people per hour per chairlift.
The most important milestones of the construction work
The old lifts were dismantled in an environmentally friendly manner and reusable material was processed directly on site for further construction work. Construction work on the valley and mountain stations as well as the associated service rooms is currently on the home stretch. The remaining supports are assembled and the comfortable armchairs are delivered. At the end of September, the cable pull for both systems as well as the cable car technology and electrical commissioning will take place.
Thanks to excellent planning by the technical department of Bergbahn Kitzbühel, the construction of the new 6-seater chairlifts began in mid-May 2023. The construction of the two plants was replacement investments. The two lifts were renewed early because the concession for the Trattenbach 3-seater chairlift expires at the end of the 2024/25 winter season. For cost reasons and to make optimal use of synergies during construction, the Gauxjoch drag lift was also included in the project as a new building. The Bergbahn Kitzbühel spent around €23 million on the construction of the two 6-seater chairlifts. It is a pioneering investment in the spirit of sustainability and meets economic, ecological and social requirements.
