SkiWeekends, the short break and flexible stay specialist, has launched over 40 new properties for this winter season, whilst also opening up new destinations such as Carinthia (Austria) and Les Gets (France).
- New Austria region – Carinthia, offering three resorts including ski touring only Innerkrems
- Partnership with The Warren Smith Ski Academy in Verbier
- New French resort – Les Gets, with large chalet sleeping up to 37 people
- Great value short breaks starting at £260 per person for 3 nights half-board
- Myrkdalen and Voss in Norway launches for the first full season
SkiWeekends have been organising tailor-made flexible ski trips to the slopes for groups and individuals for over 30 years. The aim at SkiWeekends is to help people ski when, where and for as long as they want, maximising ski time, to some of the best and well-known ski areas in Europe. SkiWeekends now offers more choice than ever before. Book flights independently with travel possible from 17 UK airports and stay in one of the catered chalets or one of the 2-5* hotels on offer.
It’s part of a large expansion that includes growing alongside its sister brand, Flexiski.
For the first time, SkiWeekends is operating a chalet in the French resort of Les Gets, popular with families and convenient short breaks for skiers looking to experience the huge Portes du Soleil area, with an hour’s transfer from Geneva Airport. Chalet Marjorie is in the centre of the resort and can sleep up to 37 guests on a half-board catered basis.
The region of Carinthia in southern Austria has been added too, with three resorts offering a variety of choices for skiers and snowboarders, including the dedicated ski touring only resort of Innerkrems and Bad Kleinkirchheim, the home of Austria’s most famous skier, Franz Klammer, who celebrates his 70th birthday this December. Heiligenblut, also added, is well-known for its steep and deep freeride terrain.
At the very end of last season, SkiWeekends introduced the ski areas of Myrkdalen and Voss, located in the west of Norway, close to the airport of Bergen. The region has one of the best snow records in Europe and offers skiing for all levels from beginners to experts looking for powder snow and ski touring experiences.
Ski instructor guru Warren Smith, based in Verbier, Switzerland, has teamed up with SkiWeekends to provide top level coaching through the Warren Smith Ski Academy, for guests of SkiWeekends through the season, tailored to the short breaks on offer as well as longer stays. Courses are suitable for skiers that can already handle red runs with confidence and above, including the Supergroup courses for skiers looking to push their limits on the famous off-piste terrain that Verbier offers.
Managing Director of SkiWeekends, Dan Fox, said: “We are really busy now, especially with all the recent snowfall we are seeing. We have added an extra 38 chalet beds to cope with demand. We’ve added more than 40 new hotels and have seen real growth in those bookings, helped by the very attractive rates we are offering for both shared and private airport transfers".
