Doppelmayr Expands Range Of Digital Products
Doppelmayr takes the next step to becoming a full-range supplier in the ropeway sector. With the aim of expanding the range of digital products, the Doppelmayr ICT GmbH & CO KG was founded. The 15-person team under the leadership of Manuel Urbanek and Bernhard Kerschbaum focuses on the advancement of information and communication technologies for ropeways.
A ropeway is a state-of-the art means of transport, a complex combination of proven hardware and innovative software and electronics. Digitalization offers an ever-wider range of possibilities serving to increase the comfort and safety of passengers and ropeway personnel. For many years, Doppelmayr has cooperated with LOOP21 Mobile Net GmbH in the implementation of information and communication technology for ropeways. This, among others, includes the one- and two-way intercom systems, the cabin monitoring, WLAN systems, energy supply, infotainment and much more. Merging these long-standing synergies was a logical step for both partners.
Thus, with effect from April 1, 2023, Doppelmayr has taken over the business operations part "Information and Communication Technology" in the ropeway sector from LOOP21 Mobile Net GmbH and founded the Doppelmayr ICT GmbH & CO KG with headquarters in Wolkersdorf. The 17-person team now unites the know-how in the sector of digital equipment of ropeways within the Doppelmayr Group.
Manuel Urbanek and Bernhard Kerschbaum were entrusted with the management of Doppelmayr ICT GmbH & CO KG. Both are well known at Doppelmayr and in the industry. Bernhard Kerschbaum has accompanied and realized a large number of ropeway projects during his time in the Sales and Project Planning departments of our branch office in Stetten. Manuel Urbanek was the CEO of LOOP21 Mobile Net GmbH and brings vast experience in the field of digitalization. Together with their powerful team, they will be integrating the ICT sector gradually into the Doppelmayr Group as the interface between the different departments and firmly establish as well as advance it.
