Schoeller Textil AG Launches Re-Source, A Sustainable Textile Collection

For Schoeller Textil AG, sustainability and performance have been core brand principles for over 150 years. The fabric technology company’s latest recycled textile collection, ReSource, embodies those principles.

Antonio Gatti Balsarri, chief commercial officer on the impact mission of the recycled textile collection, said, “With Re-Source, we are fully focused on our Schoeller brand vision for a better future for people and the planet through contributions to the textile industry. By giving new life to previously used materials, we create ecological and social added value.”

Re-Source offers breathability and thermal regulation and is wind and water-resistant. It is made from bio-based, post- and pre-consumer materials, including recycled polyester and spandex.

Two textile innovations in the collection are lined with natural Nativa merino wool on the interior for wear comfort and produced under “the highest sustainability standards.”
.
The production process of Nativa merino wool is 100 percent transparent and traceable for consumers using blockchain technology. Nativa farms worldwide meet strict social and ecological requirements for animal welfare (mulesing free), land management and ethical labor guidelines.
Schoeller is “committed to the Code Of Conduct, which guarantees transparent supply chains, environmental protection and fair working conditions. All Re-Source textiles are bluesign-approved.

Hans Kohn, COO of Schoeller Technologies AG, said, “For Re-Source, we used the special Q-cycle process. The resilient and durable Q-cycle polyamide is obtained by pyrolysis of used tires, thereby saving CO2 emissions compared to the combustion process.”

Re-Source will be on exhibit at the Functional Fabric Fair in Portland, OR, April 4-5.
