Club Med Announces New Japan Ski Hotel Opening
There’s even more good news on the Japan horizon for Club Med devotees and those considering an all inclusive snow holiday to the powder mecca of Hokkaido.
Club Med Kiroro Peak (for ages 12 and older) opened last December and now it’s sister property, the new Club Med Kiroro Grand (all ages) has announced a December opening for later this year.
The two resorts are located just a 5-minute gondola ride apart and the new Club Med Kiroro Grand is designed with a distinctive enchanted forest theme that will bring the great outdoors in. After being greeted by the elevated grand lobby, each of the resort’s 266 guest rooms will also integrate natural finishes and rich Japanese influence.
The resort offers direct access to Japan’s famed powder with bot on and off piste slopes across both Asari and Nagamine mountains. Good news is that group ski and snowboard lessons are included with every stay and are tailored to all age groups and skill levels. There will also be a myriad of family-friendly activities and amenities, including a dedicated Kids Club for children aged 2 to 17.
Club Med has also announced the brand’s first traditional Japanese onsen complete with a cedar-wood sauna, a hot stone room and a dedicated wellness lounge at Club Med Kiroro Grand. Plus restaurant and bar concepts, all-day entertainment, indoor swimming pool and more.
Need a down day off the slopes? Spend a day at the nearby Otaru Coastal Town, located 40 minutes away from the resort, and learn about the port city’s rich history with glasswork, oil lamp and music box manufacturing. Club Med will also offer the opportunity to savour the fresh flavours of the sea at the local Otaru fish market and sip on Hokkaido’s finest whiskey brewed using traditional distillation at Yoichi Distillery which was founded in 1934.
