Snowsport England are delighted to announce the appointment of Maggie Still as the new Interim CEO.

Maggie joins Snowsport England on Monday 10th July and will be combining this new position with her current role as the CEO of Scottish Squash, who like Snowsport England, have just launched a visionary new strategy.

Upon her appointment Maggie said “I am excited to be joining the team at Snowsport England. I have been skiing for many years and I love the sport! I can see that I am joining a committed and talented team across Snowsport in England. We look forward to further engaging the Snowsport audience, delivering the expectation of the sport, and driving forward the leadership, participation and talent outcomes outlined in the Snowsport 10 Year Strategy document, ‘Inspiring Snowsport’.

Bringing a wealth of experience from the world of national governing bodies and sport, we are extremely excited about this interim appointment, as CEO at Scottish Squash Maggie was instrumental in core governance changes that provided a springboard for improvements across the sport and during her tenure has seen the sport win their first international medal in 17 years. Maggie was an international 400m hurdler and had this to add “As a former athlete, I am extremely keen to do all that I can to support athletes, coaches, volunteers and competition organisers, along the performance and development pathway, to ensure a nurturing environment that enables everyone to thrive and be the best they wish to be.”

An Interim CEO appointment has been made whilst the Board of Snowsport England begin to conduct a further recruitment process for a long-term CEO and to allow for any prospective candidates to work through a notice period. Dominic McGonigal, chair of the board had this to add “The quality of candidates for the interim role was high, and are delighted by this appointment, Maggie has the exact qualities we need to provide leadership during this period of change for the organisation. We have lots of work to do, but some very exciting plans for the future, and we are confident that Maggie is the right person to lead us on this journey."
