Schlick 2000: Leitner Starts Of Construction Of The New Galtbergbahn

The Schlick 2000 replaces the Galtalm drag lift from 1961 with a modern and comfortable 10-seater gondola lift from the Leitner company.

"In mid-June 2023, the first construction measures for the new 10-seater gondola lift began as planned," says Ing. Martin Pittl, Chairman of the Board of Schlick 2000. In the coming months, the innovative and sustainable gondola lift will be built, which will offer guests a great quality , comfort and safety aspects.

FIRST 10-PERSON GONDOLA IN THE STUBAITAL

The core of this large-scale project is the extension of the cable car from the valley station slightly below the Fronebenalm to the mountain station above the Galtalm at 1,760 m. The constructive cooperation with the affected landowners and the authorities facilitated a rapid approval phase and thus the start of construction this year. It is planned to start operations in the course of the coming winter season, and possible summer operations are also being considered.

The new Galtbergbahn will lead to a significant improvement in quality and comfort and will make things easier for ski schools and beginners in particular. It also promises the finest in ride comfort: 23 spacious XLine deep cabins with premium loden seats, high speeds of up to 6 m/s with a ride time of around 4 minutes, transport capacity of 1,400 people per hour, which can be increased to a maximum of 2,000 people per hour .

QUALITY MEETS SUSTAINABILITY

The ropeway is equipped with the gearless and almost noiseless, environmentally friendly direct drive developed by LEITNER. This results in energy savings of up to 9% and the elimination of all gear oils. Another advantage of the new gondola lift is the elimination of the long, steep tow track and the time-consuming preparation required. Safer transportation of children and less experienced winter sports enthusiasts can also be guaranteed.
