KitzSki: Construction Work On Gauxjoch/Trattenbach Proceeding According To Plan
In the middle of the mountains of KitzSki, people work hard at over 1,500 meters above sea level. As early as May 9, 2023, the construction work for the new and modern 6-seater Gauxjoch and Trattenbach chairlifts to replace the outdated Gauxjoch and Trattenbach ski lifts began as planned.
In the next few months, two particularly sustainable chairlifts will be built, which will bring guests a major improvement in quality and comfort. The construction period is expected to be completed by the end of November. Thanks to the early exchange with the representatives of the authorities, the guidelines and recommendations could already be taken into account in the planning phase. The various official procedures could be held quickly and professionally. The very good cooperation with the affected landowners is already favoring the planning and in May also the start of construction.
The major project costs €23 million. It is an investment with a pioneering character in the spirit of sustainability and thus meets not only economic but also ecological and social requirements. For example, all construction machines used for the implementation of this large-scale project are refueled exclusively with HVO diesel fuel directly on site; the abbreviation HVO stands for Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and means hydrogenated vegetable oil.
In-house competence and neighboring expertise
The total construction time for the two 6-seater chairlifts will be around six months. Together with the South Tyrolean company LEITNER, the team in the technical department of Bergbahn Kitzbühel has developed an innovative and particularly sustainable concept. Just like KitzSki, LEITNER maintains very high quality standards, which is visible in every product and thus also in the 6-seater Gauxjoch and Trattenbach chairlifts.
