Doppelmayr Launches Mountain Mobility Talks

In addition to the sporting highlights, this year's Tour of Austria also focuses on Austria as a cycling country. With the five stages across Austria, the tour visits the most beautiful regions of the country and focuses on tourism. With its landscapes, valleys and mountains, Austria offers opportunities like no other country in Europe. In the past few months, six regions in Austria have been visited. Personalities were also invited to the Mountain Mobility Talk by Doppelmayr. Tour director Thomas Pupp acted as moderator and conducted in-depth discussions in selected mountain railways. The Mountain Mobility Talks are presented by the Vorarlberg cable car manufacturer Doppelmayr.

In the various talks, Thomas Pupp talks to local world-class athletes, such as Olympic champions Alessandro Hämmerle and Benjamin Karl, but also to tourism representatives and successful entrepreneurs, for example from the cable car industry. A lot revolves around Austria as a cycling country, but also about the past and prospects for the future of mobility.

Jürgen Pichler – Head of Marketing Doppelmayr Group:
"The Mountain Mobility Talks are a platform that brings different players together - from cable car operators and tourism professionals to top athletes. They provide insights into the issues of our time, different dimensions of mountain experiences, sports and the diversity of tourism. The cable cars in top Austrian regions and the stages of the Tour of Austria are the perfect location for this.”

Thomas Kofler/Thomas Pupp – Managing Director Tour of Austria:
“The Tour of Austria is more than just the largest cycling event in the country. Above all, it is the most beautiful sightseeing tour through Austria and the perfect platform to give the big topic of cycling a stage. We created the Mountain Mobility Talk with K19 and found the perfect partner in Doppelmayr.”

Alessandro Hämmerle – Olympic champion snowboard:
“The bike is also very important to me in training. Both in summer and in winter. In summer I ride my racing bike a lot, but I also like to ride my mountain bike on a downhill track in the Montafon. There is probably nothing better for an athlete than being able to train at home in front of the front door. I really appreciate that.”
