Pats Peak Celebrates 60 Years With A 60-Foot Long Cake
Pats Peak celebrates 60 years under the Patenaude family ownership, which makes it the longest continuously operating ski area run by the same owner. Saturday, January 5, 2023 marked the 60th Birthday of Pats Peak.
Pats Peak celebrated their 60th Birthday on Saturday, January 7, 2023 with a Birthday Party Celebration. The day’s events included The River 92.5 DJ playing music outside in the Base Area; a Birthday Party Celebration with a 60-FOOT LONG Birthday Cake; an Après-Ski Party in the Sled Pub with Live Music by The McMurphy’s; and a Fireworks Display to end the night.
The center of the celebration was a 60-foot long cake. Hannaford of Concord, NH made and decorated the 60-foot long cake, which featured photos of Pats Peak’s history from its groundbreaking to the newest improvements. Members of the Patenaude Family, the owners of Pats Peak, blew out the candles on the cake after a crowd of skiers and snowboarders gathered in the main lodge to sing "Happy Birthday to Pats Peak" and then they all ate the cake! Other birthday touches throughout the mountain included an Ice Carving featuring Pats Peak’s 60th logo and a large Hollywood sign displaying “Happy 60th”. At Noon, the three riders in the #60 Chair on the Peak Triple Chair Lift were pleasantly surprised by Boris and Snowball and each given a gift bag of Pats Peak memorabilia.
“It was a great day to celebrate. Guest of all ages loved seeing our 60-foot cake and having a piece of cake to celebrate our 60th birthday. Family is what we have been all about for sixty years and it was great to celebrate with everyone”, says Kris Blomback, General Manager of Pats Peak.
