China Youth Skiing Open - Shenyang Station Ends Successfully
On 31 January, Shenyang Station of China Youth Skiing Open 22/23 ended successfully.
It is worth mentioning that Han Feitong, the winner of the SB GS U15 Female category, has won a number of domestic events in succession since 2019, and she will represent China at the World Middle School Games (Gymnasiade) in Turkey in February this year. "This event is more professional than any previous ones I have participated in. China Youth Skiing Open was closer to international events and allowed more experience to be gained. I hope that there will be more competitions like this in the future and that I can represent the Chinese team at the Winter Olympics and the World Cup in the future", said Han Feitong.
Youth participation in snow sports has exploded in the Post-Olympic Era. China Youth Skiing Open runs in accordance with the standards of the FIS and aims to further help the host city improve its event management, operation and organisation. For instance, 60% of the referees for Shenyang Station are local, which helped to improve local referees' ability to officiate and hold high-level skiing events in the future.
According to the Shenyang Sports Bureau, the successful holding of the Beijing Winter Olympics has stimulated the enthusiasm of all people to participate, and Shenyang has a fine tradition and outstanding achievements in the training of elite skiing and snowboarding talents, such as the Shenyang Sports Institute which has been successful in its professional system of training talents through sports colleges. Shenyang is well positioned to expand its talent development through a variety of development models such as school-enterprise alliances and clubs in the future.
The NEA Ski Resort is located in the only national forest park in Shenyang. It is also the largest ski resort with the largest area and the largest number of ski trails among the other four ski resorts with an annual tourist reception of nearly 100,000 people.
Future Stars - China Youth Skiing Open 22/23 is directed by the Winter Sports Management Centre of the State General Administration of Sport and the FIS China office, organised by the Chinese Ski Association, supported by the official cooperation of the Bank of China and social media partner Sina Weibo. Shenyang Station is organized by Shenyang Municipal Bureau of Sports, Shenyang Hunnan people’s Government, Shenyang Qipan Mountain Scenic and Tourism Development Zone Management Committee, and co-organized by Liaoning Ski Association, Shenyang Tourism Group, and Shenyang NEA Ski Resort Co., Ltd.
