Ski Amade Optimistic About The Coming 2023/24 Winter Season

Ski amadé increases flexibility when enjoying the slopes and is optimistic about the coming 2023/24 winter season. The ski association is again investing heavily in the quality of the ski areas and is offering numerous measures to combat inflation, especially for families with children. In addition, successful campaigns such as the online early bird system will be continued.

“We continue to firmly believe in the fascination of winter sports and look forward to welcoming our guests,” says Christoph Eisinger, Managing Director of Ski amadé. After the Corona years, the ski association experienced a significant upswing in guest numbers last season. The number of overnight stays rose from 6.28 million in the 2021/22 season to 7.4 million in the 2022/23 season. The upswing could also be seen in the sales of cable car companies. This increased from 243.9 million euros in the 2021/22 season to 302.9 million euros in the 2022/23 season. “We look back on a successful winter season, are optimistic and well prepared for the future.”

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE UPCOMING WINTER SEASON:

96 million euros: investments for the coming winter season

Ski amadé shows innovative strength with new and expanded lifts. Ski amadé invested no less than 96 million euros for the upcoming winter season. The new 10-seater gondola lift to Kieserl in the Großarltal ski area goes into operation in time for the start of the season and replaces the existing 8-seater gondola lift. In addition, the Dachstein mountain station in the Schladming-Dachstein region is being rebuilt. A total of around 54 million euros were invested in the renewal and expansion of the railways. In addition, new snowmaking systems worth around 20 million euros were purchased. Approximately 22 million euros were also invested in improving slopes, snow parks, snow groomers and other infrastructure measures. Thanks to the investments, Ski amadé is a regional source of inspiration and the largest employer in the region.

Family-friendly pricing policy: promotions for children and young people

Ski amadé measures against inflation are important for the upcoming winter season, especially for children, young people and families, as Berchthaller emphasizes. “With campaigns such as the Junior Weekend Bonus, the Easter family campaign or the Mini’s Week, we are once again focusing on family-friendliness, which has already had a positive impact in the past. In the last season, the number of ski days for children and young people increased compared to the total ski days. This means that our measures are working and parents are very happy to come to us with their children.”

Online early bird system: Book early, ski cheaper

An important contribution to the upswing last season was the online early bird system. Anyone who books their ski pass early and online will be rewarded with a particularly attractive rate - the earlier you book, the greater the chance of getting a good price.

You also save possible waiting times at the checkout. Berchthaller: “We are very satisfied with the online early bird system. Many guests were happy to take advantage of it last season to save money and we expect even more online early birders next winter. Families in particular benefit because they often plan their vacation for the longer term.” Over 25 percent of ski guests now buy their ski pass online. It is expected that the number of online purchases will increase even further in the 2023/24 season. This is already evident from the first weeks of sales in the online ticket shop for the coming winter season.
