DAKINE Launches Winter 2024 Signature Series

DAKINE has announced the launch of its winter signature series, designed with direct input from some of the best in the snowboarding and skiing game. These packs, gloves and mitts include inspiration from Sam Taxwood, Louif Paradis, Jill Perkins, Karl Fostvedt and Sammy Carlson for riders everywhere to be backed by DAKINE’s high quality technology and eye-catching styles all winter long.

Sam Taxwood Signature Series – Team Baron GORE-TEX Mitt and Team Mission PRO 18L

“The inspo for the design on my signature DAKINE products just came from my love for cycling and some other imaging from old x-rays and things because I have spent a lot of time with my body underneath an x-ray machine with all my injuries,” said Sam Taxwood.

Sam puts his gear and body to the test while riding, and his signature series holds up to his high standards. This series consists of the Team Baron GORE-TEX Mitt and Team Mission PRO 18L backpack. The mitt is available in dark olive and constructed with GORE-TEX technology that has the highest combined levels of waterproofing, breathability, durability and softness available. Complete the set with the matching Team Mission PRO 18L backpack, equipped with a snowboard carry, numerous pockets and high-level technology.

Louif Paradis Signature Series – Team Excursion GORE-TEX Mitt and Team Mission Pro 32L

Louif is a versatile rider, channeling his riding creativity into his signature series. It includes the Team Excursion GORE-TEX Mitt and Team Mission Pro 32L backpack. The Team Excursion GORE-TEX Mitt features a waterproof-breathable GORE-TEX liner, supported by a water repellant goat leather palm and a 4-way soft stretch glove. Louif’s Team Mission Pro 32L backpack has plenty of storage space and compartments to organize belongings.

“I like that I have the option to bring more gear on my long days out there in the cold. I can bring one or two bottles of water, snacks, sometimes a full lunch, dry layers, an extra pair of mitts, some safety gear, snowshoes, goggles, etc. It’s a super practical pack, I love it,” said Louif.

Jill Perkins Signature Series – Team Fleetwood GORE-TEX Mitt, Women’s Team Mission Pro 25L

Jill is a powerful force in the snowboarding industry and did not hold back when creating her signature series. It’s a universal glove with a collage style DAKINE logo which captures Jill’s spirit. You can catch this artwork on both the Team Fleetwood GORE-TEX Mitt and Women’s Team Mission PRO 25L. The Team Fleetwood Mitt is waterproof and breathable due to the GORE-TEX insert and features touch screen compatibility. Features of the Women’s Team Mission PRO 25L include an insulated hydro sleeve, fleece lined goggle pocket, snow tool/shovel pocket and more.

“When designing this series, I wanted to create something for everyone. Nothing too flashy – which is where the black came in. I found color and font inspiration in one of my favorite coffee table books by Maison Margiela. With subtle colors and shapes, this series is universal,” said Jill.

Karl Fostvedt Signature Series – Team Fillmore GORE-TEX Short Glove, Team Poacher RAS 36L

Karl Fostvedt is one of the most innovative and spontaneous free skiers, known by his nickname “Crazy Karl”. His designs in the Karl Fostvedt Signature Series keep in mind the heart-pumping winter ahead, with the Team Fillmore GORE-TEX Short Glove, a glove made to keep users warm and dry with Hi-Loft insulation composed of 50% recycled polyester and polyester on the inside, with a PFC-free Gore-Tex insert.

The Team Poacher RAS 36L is durable and designed to comfortably carry gear with loops and a large volume top pocket with 36 liters of space along with a removable airbag system. When asked about it, Karl said, “It’s a great size and it has the airbag system. You can use a smaller pack, but you’re not saving that much weight by going smaller. With the 36L, even if its half full it still fits really well and for those big days you can fit everything you need without your pack exploding.”

Sammy Carlson Signature Series – Team Excursion GORE-Tex Glove, Team Poacher RAS 26L

Sammy Carlson is a household name in skiing, landing the world’s first-ever triple cork. This legend’s signature series is made up of the Team Excursion GORE-TEX Glove that is constructed with waterproof technology and a one hand cinch gauntlet to stay secure. Vibrant red accents are present on the glove, giving it an edge like Sammy. The same design scheme is present on the Team Poacher RAS 26L, which features a removable airbag system, 100% recycled high density nylon materials, handy loops to carry splitboard poles and ice axe carries along with plenty of convenient pockets for the wild adventures ahead.
