New Cable Car Building For Ehrwalder Almbahn

Just in time for the coming winter season, the cable car building of the Ehrwalder Almbahn in Tyrol should shine in new splendor: The modernization work has been in full swing since the end of the 2022/23 winter season and is expected to last for the entire summer season. In addition to the modernization of the valley station, the comprehensive renovation also includes construction work on the piste and the mountain station. The aim of the modernization is to be able to present guests with a modern and quality-improved operation at the beginning of the coming winter season. However, summer holidays in Tyrol are not affected by the renovations - the Ehrwalder Almbahn will be in normal operation for the duration of the renovation.

After 21 years, the time has come: the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn is undergoing extensive modernization. The construction measures that have been taking place since the end of the last winter season include new escalators to the cable car, a covered bus stop, a Kiss & Ride area and an underground car park. Other innovations that should offer guests even more comfort are a ski depot, a valley station shop, a new cash desk area and a lift.

The aim of improving the quality of the guest experience also applies to the renovation work on the piste and the mountain station: while the former involves a piste correction and a renewal of the snow-making system on the valley run, a new training room for apprentices and an expansion of the snow groomer garage are planned for the mountain station . In the course of the modernization measures, however, the summer vacation for active athletes is not affected: Since the technical areas of the cable car are not affected by the conversion, the Ehrwalder Almbahn can continue to operate normally for the duration of the construction work. By the beginning of the new winter season 2023/24, the valley station should be completed and shine.
