INTERALPIN 2023: Trade Fair Review Of Individual Exhibitors
After a four-year break due to corona, the 24th edition of INTERALPIN underlined its unbroken global strength and appeal as the world's leading trade fair. For three days, the Alpine metropolis of Innsbruck became the center of the cable car and alpine technology industry for over 35,000 trade visitors from all over the world. "I am extremely pleased that INTERALPIN 2023 was able to build on its important role as the most international meeting place for the industry and was confirmed by trade visitors as the world's leading trade fair for alpine technologies. The innovative strength of the industry is impressive and the innovations, concepts and solutions presented by around 650 exhibiting companies from more than 50 nations went all over the world. My big thanks go to all exhibitors and partners as well as the many trade visitors,” summarizes director Christian Mayerhofer, managing director of the organizer Congress Messe Innsbruck (CMI).
"As a long-standing and important partner, I am delighted with the excellent course and success of INTERALPIN 2023. Discussions with the companies have shown that very good business was concluded at the trade fair. The innovations presented were extremely well received by the cable car companies and other target groups at INTERALPIN. The ropeway industry has been investing in sustainability for many years and is optimistic about the future," adds Dr. Erick Wolf, Managing Director of the Austrian Cable Car Association (WKO).
The particularly high quality of the trade visitors who came underlined why the INTERALPIN is the world's leading platform for the industry: The proportion of top decision-makers was around 75 percent, as an independent visitor survey carried out during the trade fair shows. The reasons for the high proportion of high-quality trade visitors were the presence of all the market-leading big players, the many innovations from the manufacturers, the complete overview of all the brands relevant to the industry and the opportunity to make important international contacts. The exhibiting companies were able to report accordingly successfully: More than 80 percent of the decision-makers came to the fair with concrete investment projects, as the visitor survey shows.
The INTERALPIN 2023 was able to prove its title as the world's leading trade fair with an international trade visitor share of over 65 percent. The access control system at Messe Innsbruck recorded registrations from more than 120 nations. In addition to Austria, the range of countries of origin included established core markets such as France, Italy, Germany, the USA, Japan, Argentina and Switzerland, and rapidly growing future markets such as India, China, Turkey and other representatives from the Near and Middle East, Central - and East Asia or South America. The most prominent international visitor was the Indian Transport and Transport Minister, His Excellency Nitin Gadkari, who, with a large delegation and a number of investment projects,
In addition to the innovative trade fair presence of the exhibiting companies and brands, INTERALPIN 2023 was able to expand its role as the topic leader in the industry. Already on the first day, the Austrian Cable Car Conference showed what is important in the present and what will become even more relevant in the future. Under the title "Sustainability - Ecology, Economy, Social Issues", workshops dealt with energy autonomy for cable cars or new ways of tourist mobility. Sustainability was also a major topic at the accompanying INTERALPIN INSPIRATION DAYS. An outlook on European tourism was already outlined during the keynote session. The topic of sustainability in alpine tourism went into even more detail. “Prominent speakers like Dr. Eduardo Santander, Director of the European Travel Commission, or one of the most successful and creative ski area operators, Jakob (Jack) Falkner, caused a great deal of international resonance,” reports INTERALPIN project manager Stefan Kleinlercher. The conference of the International Organization for the Cable Car Industry (OITAF) and the meeting of the International Federation of National Associations of Cable Car Companies (FIANET) also took place as part of the INTERALPIN.
Mayerhofer adds: "The great response from the industry and the great interest of trade visitors give us the clear task of repeating the success story of INTERALPIN as a 'Peak Experience' in its 25th edition in 2025 to develop a bit further.” Overall, more than 90 percent of the trade visitors gave the INTERALPIN 2023 top marks, as the visitor survey shows.
EXHIBITOR STATEMENTS:
- Julia Schwärzler (Doppelmayr/Garaventa Group): "We were very pleased that the INTERALPIN could finally take place again. We brought a multitude of innovations, such as two new ropeway systems and a brand new cabin, and presented them to the world. The quality of the trade visitors was excellent, the guests came to our stand from all over the world and we were able to talk about specific projects in connection with our innovations. INTERALPIN is the world's leading trade fair for alpine technologies and we are already looking forward to the next edition in 2025."
- Michael Tanzer (Leitner Ropeways): “The INTERALPIN is the world's largest and most important trade fair for the industry and a highlight for us. For three days we have the opportunity to welcome an international audience, present our new products and advise customers from India to North America to Austria. We were able to conduct countless international customer discussions and answer questions from cable car operators with our HTI Innovation Corner. Due to the large international crowd and the size of the trade fair, INTERALPIN deserves the title of leading international trade fair in the industry!”
- Thilo Vogelgsang (Kässbohrer Geländefahrzeug AG/PistenBully): "After four years of a break due to the corona virus, expectations of INTERALPIN were high, but we were also nervous about how the response would ultimately be. It's unbelievable what was going on at our stand: our international team was able to hold a lot of discussions, finalize agreements and take away a lot of positive energy. We were able to successfully present two new products, such as our innovative quick-change milling machine. The INTERALPIN is an extremely important trade fair for us and a leading international trade fair.”
- Nemanja Dogo (TechnoAlpin): “The INTERALPIN is the most important trade fair for our industry and as the world market leader we can, must and want to be there. This 24th edition was awaited with great anticipation and the huge rush of visitors could be felt from the first day of the fair. From the USA to Canada, Kazakhstan and Europe, the INTERALPIN was extremely well received internationally. Most of the ski areas have worked very well and investments have been made accordingly, and plans and projects have been drawn up. The INTERALPIN has 100% confirmed itself as the world's leading trade fair."
- Emanuel Wohlfahrter (SunKid): “We came to INTERALPIN 2023 with huge expectations and they were absolutely fulfilled. We were able to welcome customers from all over the world, for example from Japan, China, Mexico and South Africa, to our booth and present our innovative new products. On the one hand we were able to reach decision-makers from the international markets, but on the other hand we were also able to reach local customers from the leading ski areas. We can confirm that no other trade fair in the world comes close to INTERALPIN – it is number one!”
- Oliver Suter (Axess AG): “There were an unbelievable number of visitors from all over the world at our stand. I can't think of any country where there is a ski area and someone from there wasn't at our stand. It's a fantastic feeling to finally be back at the INTERALPIN! Digitization was extremely developed by the pandemic and we were able to successfully present our new ski wallet and many other innovations, for example. The industry is back at INTERALPIN and no other word than the world's leading trade fair fits this 24th edition."
- Oskar Schenk (SUPERSNOW): "Customers finally wanted to meet again and our expectations were correspondingly high for INTERALPIN 2023. We were able to show our two major innovations - an innovative lance and a tower solution - as well as meet our existing customers and finalize deals. Our expectations have been more than fulfilled! The INTERALPIN is by far the most important trade fair for us.”
- Marta Lozano (vonRoll hydro ag): “INTERALPIN is the industry's most important platform when it comes to presenting new ideas and innovations to an international audience. We are very happy that we were able to present our solutions for zerowaterloss to an interested and qualitative specialist audience and that we were able to help shape the INTERALPIN INSPIRATION DAYS with a specialist lecture. Our appearance at the trade fair was absolutely successful and we will definitely come back to the INTERALPIN in 2025.”
- Julien Guilloteau (IDM): “At the INTERALPIN we presented numerous innovations and new products from the technical field to visitors from Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, Scotland and Japan. It was therefore important for us to get in touch with the technical managers in the ski areas. This worked very well due to the great internationality of INTERALPIN and we are now expecting strong post-fair business. The INTERALPIN is the most important trade fair in the industry.”
- Nico Hechenberger (Mountain Innovations): “INTERALPIN is the most important industry trade fair in the world and for us as a new player on the market - with a summer toboggan run and other adventure offers - it was of course important to be present and to network. Many entrepreneurs or managing directors of mountain railways or tourism associations came to our stand and we can draw a successful conclusion."
- Pascal Türtscher (TrackSystems): “We were at the INTERALPIN for the first time to bring the subject of electric mobility in the Alps closer to the international trade visitors and to present brand new innovations. Our vehicles for all aspects of sustainable transport in the ski area met with great interest and we are very enthusiastic about INTERALPIN 2023. We are now expecting strong post-fair business, as we were able to generate good contacts and would like to come to INTERALPIN in 2025 with a larger stand.”
