Inaugural Meeting Of Bergbahnen Adelboden-lenk Held
The inaugural meeting of Bergbahnen Adelboden-Lenk AG (BAL AG) hs taken place. The new company will start operations on October 1, 2023.
After the General Meetings of Bergbahnen Adelboden AG and the Lenk Bergbahnen Cooperative said yes to a joint operating company last spring, the inaugural meeting of Bergbahnen Adelboden-Lenk AG (BAL AG) took place in Lenk.
"The official founding is a formal, but important, further milestone for BAL AG. I am convinced that the joint company will bring significant advantages for both mountain railways and that we will be able to face the challenges of the future with greater strength," explained Raphael Häring, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the new operating company. Häring heads a newly formed body consisting of three board members each from the two parent companies,
Timetable until the start of operations
The CEO of BAL AG, Nicolas Vauclair, also agrees: "The advantages are obvious: Thanks to a joint fund, BAL AG will be able to develop attractive offers for our guests from a single source and to efficiently manage the common area without competition". In this way, circumstances such as climate change, cost pressure, changing guest needs and the shortage of skilled workers will be better able to deal with.
The new company, which is owned equally by Bergbahnen Adelboden and Lenk, will become active on October 1 of this year. Until then, the foundations will be laid so that BAL AG can take over the operational activities of its parent companies. For example, a joint IT platform is being developed or the new processes and organizational procedures in the individual departments are being reviewed and revised if necessary. Furthermore, the focus is also on creating the basis in the areas of finance and human resources so that BAL AG will be ready to go on October 1st.
