Rossi Raids Japanese Back Catalog For Limited Edition Designs

Rossignol’s SUPER project is a movement in graphic design with a singular purpose: to create a line of limited-edition products that call back to the most cherished and obscure parts of Rossignol’s heritage.

SUPER is a design process that draws on elements from different mountain sports across the brand’s history and combines them in three unique new products.

The project draws its inspiration from a beloved but rare 1994 ski called the Super Virage, which was only sold in Japan. Its loud, vivacious design symbolized the frenetic energy inherent in the Japanese ski culture of the period—with bright accents of pink, fuchsia, and purple. As a nod to one of the least-known but most- coveted Rossignol designs of all time, they’re bringing it back for a select time.

You can now find it in a limited run of the Heretic mountain bike, the Blackops 98 ski, and the Sashimi snowboard, redesigned into the Super Heretic, Super Blackops, and Super Sashimi. As three burly toys built for descending gnarly mountains in all conditions, they’re loud, capable, and one-of-a kind—and they’re made to play anywhere.

The Super Blackops

With all the same guts you’re familiar with, this limited edition version of the Blackops 98 delivers exceptional versatility while commanding precise control in powder, crud, or on groomers. Its dynamic PEFC poplar wood core and its construction make it a smooth, damp, and powerful ski. You get edge hold, playfulness, float, and fun, all in one.

The Super Blackops is designed to let you open it up in any kind of terrain, now in more style than ever!

The Super Sashimi

The Super Sashimi features our award winning L.I.T.E. Grip core, AmpTek Elite camber profile and RadCut on-demand sidecut radius. Designed as a twin freeride board, it’s narrower and lighter than Xavier De Le Rue’s signature Sashimi, with the same camber but more tail, shorter sidecut, and a smaller pintail. Its shape suits intermediate and expert all-mountain riders looking for a surf-like, loose, playful twin for powder, as well as a board that carves on packed snow. This one does it all.

Sizes: 155, 158

The Super Heretic Bike

Born from the 2022 Enduro World Series championships, the Super Heretic is a special bike. This particular iteration is distinguished by its unapologetically retro paint job. Available only in limited edition, the Super Heretic comes with Rossignol’s top build and is tuned for racing, but is equally at home in the park, or smashing gravity laps on playful trails where speed is fun, but you’re less worried about the clock.

The frame: developed with Rossignol World Enduro Factory Team riders, the Heretic is fast on the nastiest descents, while offering enhanced pedaling efficiency on climbs. A full 29er with 160mm of travel, its sturdy aluminium frame and highly tuned four-bar suspension platform smooth out big hits while also quieting small-bump chatter, providing the versatility and confidence needed to tackle long enduro stages. Its lively geometry thrives in the air and in corners, gobbling them like trail snacks.
