Snow Space Salzburgh: Successful Winter Olympians Receive Branded Gondola Cabins

Snow Space Salzburgh: Successful winter Olympians receive branded gondola cabins. Ceremonial gondola handover to Mirjam Puchner, Stefan Kraft, Jan Hörl, Andreas Prommegger and Toni Gruber in Snow Space Salzburg

The Alpendorf gondola lift in St. Johann/Alpendorf is one of the strongest feeder lifts in the Snow Space Salzburg ski area, with over a million transports a year. Five gondola cabins in the facility are now moving in honor of Olympic silver medalist Mirjam Puchner (Schwarzach i. P.), the two Olympic gold medal winners in the ski jumping team competition Stefan Kraft (Schwarzach i. P.) and Jan Hörl (Bischofshofen) as well as the longtime successful snowboard world cup champion Andreas Prommegger (St. Johann i. P.). The para-skiing world champion Anton Gruber (St. Johann i. P.), who again won the combined competition of skydiving and ski giant slalom in Snow Space Salzburg last winter, was also awarded a gondola.

In the presence of representatives of the Salzburg Ski Association and the mayors of the municipalities in which they live, the two board members of the Bergbahnen, Wolfgang Hettegger and Christina König, presented the gondola cabins to the successful athletes.

In his statement, Wolfgang Hettegger acknowledged the great achievements of the athletes and emphasized the role model effect for the local young skiers: “Great achievements should be honored. By being present on one of our main feeder facilities, the Alpendorf gondola lift, the athletes are given the attention they deserve and their performance. The role models of many young athletes are already doing their rounds at the entrance to the ski area and are intended to motivate future medal winners to do their best.”
