Smith & Boarding For Breast Cancer Launch Collab Eyewear
Honoring a longstanding partnership, shared values, and cumulative passions for pursuing thrills in the outdoors, SMITH and Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) announce their newest collaboration, and first ever, co-branded sunglasses collection. The co-branded, limited-edition assortment promotes early detection and healthy, active lifestyles as the best means of cancer prevention.
The SMITH x B4BC capsule sunglass collection includes the custom-colored Bobcat in Matte Chalk Rose frame with ChromaPop™ Rose Gold Mirror lens and Cheetah in Chalk Rose Tortoise frame with ChromaPop™ Polarized Rose Gold Mirrored lens - each designed to cut glare while enhancing contrast, definition, natural color and unmatched clarity – and emblazoned with the B4BC logo on the temples to show gratitude and support of the non-profit organization. SMITH athlete and B4BC ambassador, Mary Rand, is a huge proponent of breast cancer awareness and will be sporting the SMITH x B4BC Bobcat sunglasses across events and competitions this season.
B4BC was established in 1996 and inspired by Monica Steward, co-founder of Bonfire Snowboarding who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 26 and passed two years later following complications from a delayed diagnosis. Steward, along with a bevy of snowboarding industry friends, used their platform to create B4BC, with the aim to eliminate breast cancer deaths in present and future generations by arming young people with the tools necessary to reduce their risks and lead longer, healthier lives. To support the efforts, each SMITH sunglass sold within the collab will include a shower card detailing self-exam techniques. Sales proceeds from the collection will go directly to B4BC to help continue its mission in education and event promotion, raising awareness and survivorship.
The collab SMITH x B4BC colorways of the Bobcat (MSRP $219) and Cheetah (MSRP $199) are exclusively available now at smithoptics.com and select retailers across North America.
