Schilthornbahn AG To Further Develop And Supplement Summer And Winter Tourist Experience At Schilthorn,
The Schilthornbahn AG intends to further develop and supplement the summer and winter tourist experience at the Schilthorn, Birg and Allmendhubel locations. At the same time, as a precautionary measure, cable car corridors are to be set aside for all cable car systems in the area of the Schilthornbahn. The projects were summarized in a development regulation.
In the summer of this year, Schilthornbahn AG began preparatory work for the SCHILTHORNBAHN 20XX construction project, which will be of great importance in the coming years. But not only the railways and the stations, but also the tourist summer and winter adventure offer should be expanded and supplemented at central locations. The focus is on offers for the summer or for year-round use. Due to global warming and the trend towards increasing snowfall, it is important that tourist use on the Schilthorn is strengthened during the summer months and that the area remains attractive as a tourist area in the long term.
A large number of the planned offers require a development regulation
In recent years, the railway company has already implemented numerous projects within the framework of individual building permits. However, the sum of the future facilities and offers at the same location required planning prior to the building permit, in which the expected effects on space and the environment were also presented and assessed as a whole. Simultaneously with this planning of the summer uses, cable car corridors are to be set aside as a precaution for all cable car systems throughout the Schilthornbahn AG area. For these reasons, the tourist usage plan for the Schilthorn, Birg and Allmendhubel was drawn up and summarized in a development ordinance.
Projects at the Allmendhubel
Some appealing project ideas are available for the Allmendhubel. The existing adventure playground Flower Park should also become more attractive for older children and young people in the future and be expanded accordingly. New climbing installations, a kind of ninja park and several trampolines are planned. But the route to Mürren is also to be expanded to be interactive and varied, both in summer and in winter. A toboggan run is planned as an addition.
Enhance the experience on Birg and on the Schilthorn
The thrill character should be emphasized even more on Birg. Accordingly, offers with a high adrenaline factor are being planned at this location. There will be fewer changes due to the limited space on the Schilthorn. Here, with the gentle expansion of two vantage points - including the Kleinen Schilthorn - the panorama should be placed even more in the foreground.
Separation of new and existing cable car corridors
As a precaution, cable car corridors are to be set aside for all cable cars throughout the Schilthornbahn AG area. These form the spatial planning prerequisite for a later renewal of the facilities. In addition to the existing corridors for the Allmiboden, Maulerhubel, Winteregg and Riggli chairlifts, where no changes to the routes are planned, the company is also planning new corridors: Instead of the Kandahar chairlift, a corridor from Allmend to Obere Hübel will be designated. This is supplemented by a new connection from the Sonnenberg to the Allmend.
Environmentally relevant issues included from the start
Projects for tourist use generally have an impact on space and the environment. For this reason, environmentally relevant topics are presented and processed in advance and important partners are brought on board from the start. In addition, all proposed projects have already been coordinated with the Lauterbrunnen municipality's development model. For them, the desired further development of tourism represents an important economic factor.
