Ski Amade: Strong Investor And Identified As Largest Employer In The Region
A total of 184 million was invested in the past three seasons. 44 million euros of this in this summer half-year. Of this year's total investment, more than half (27.2 million) went to lifts and cable cars. For example, in the Schladming-Dachstein region, the 6-seater/10-seater combined lift on the Rittisberg in Ramsau and the 10-seater gondola on the Galsterberg were newly built. The two new railways are replacement investments for old facilities. Construction of the Kieserlbahn has started in Grossarltal. 4.4 million euros were invested in snowmaking and 1.7 million euros in slope construction and snow parks. A further 10.8 million euros flowed into other operational investments.
This means that the cable car companies in Ski amadé are not only one of the most important investors in the region, but also the largest employer. 1,880 employees – 830 of whom work year-round – work for the cable cars. In other sectors, such as tourism and transport, retail and suppliers, the added value from ski guests secures around 14,000 more jobs, 9,000 of which are directly in the region.
