Saalbach Hinterglemm: Best Summer In 30 Years
Saalbach Hinterglemm counted 784,763 overnight stays in summer 2022. This is an astonishing increase of 9.7% compared to summer 2021. This means that the tourist resort in the Glemmtal has even had higher overnight stays than before the pandemic: Compared to summer 2019, there was an increase in overnight stays this year of 8.5%.
More overnight stays from May to September were only counted in 1992. These figures stand for themselves and clearly show the popularity of Saalbach Hinterglemm as a year-round destination. Thus, the summer of 2022 in the Glemmtal can be concluded with joy.
Hiking, mountain biking, active holidays with the family and enjoying nature: These are the main products of the people of Saalbach that bear fruit. More and more people can be inspired by the diversity of the region through targeted marketing measures.
“We are very happy that our destination is in such high demand. The consistent brand strategy including innovative product development, digital first in advertising and a high quality of the tourism service chain are the cornerstones of this positive development," says Wolfgang Breitfuss, Director of the Saalbach Hinterglemm Tourism Association.
Highlights such as the GlemmRide Bike Festival in July and the 23rd World Games of Mountain Biking in September attracted numerous bike fans to the region. Bikers could also look forward to variety on the trails with the new fAIRy Line on the Schattberg and the redesign of the Z-Line on the Zwölferkogel. A new and attractive product was also introduced with the Escape Trail, which has been playable since the end of July. Events such as the traditional Hinterglemm farmers' market in August or the IVV Hiking World Championships in September brought many guests to the region.
