New Snowsports Surface For Tallington Lakes

40 years since Tallington Lakes first opened its doors to the public and 35 years since the 120m dry ski slope was added to the growing leisure park; a brand-new surface has been fitted. As many haven’t had the chance to hit the snowy mountains abroad these past two seasons, Proslope claims to be the closest artificial surface to snow. Thanks to its matting and construction, which includes a shock absorption layer; beginners to full on freestyle skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the slopes safely without leaving the country.

The slope recently re matted its nursery slopes with a new, 'different' surface, Neveplast.

To be completed by the start of the winter season, November 2022, Tallington’s outdoor dry slope offers a chance for those that want to try something a bit different this winter to get out there to give it a go, or challenge advanced freestyle and racing skiers who want a responsive, fast slope that offers a huge edge grip to hone their skills.

But don’t take their word for it, here’s what Team GB Snowboard Olympian, Jamie Nicholls, had to say: “from the first moment I rode Proslope at Snowtrax a few years ago, I instantly felt the difference […] it feels more forgiving without losing any board control. Proslope [is] my go-to choice.”

Even the legendary Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Ski Jumping Olympian recognises how great a surface this is to learn on and enjoy!

And, with British Association of Snowsports Instructors (BASI) and Snowsports England instructors to coach and guide you, autumn is the best time to learn to ski and snowboard to prepare for the winter. Skiing and snowboarding provide an exhilarating way to exercise during the colder months, with private or group lessons available.

Plus, the knowledgeable staff at the Pro Shop, located just off the dry slope, will be able to help with all your winterwear needs. Particularly, ski and snowboard boots with the tailored Boot Fitting Service. They will match you with the best boot to suit your requirements, enhancing your ski or boarding experience with a custom fit too.

The opening of the new surface will bring with it a host of organised racing, freestyle competitions, ski touring classes, as well as private and group ski/snowboard lessons. Not forgetting Day Courses and the Junior Snow School; at Tallington Lakes that will be something to suit everyone on the slopes. Keep an eye on their website and social media for more information!

To kick off the winter season in style, look out for the Christmas Freestyle Open Day in December (TBC).
