Monarch Mountain Purchases Scenic Tramway
Monarch Mountain is excited to announce that it has purchased the Monarch Crest and Scenic Tramway at the top of Monarch Pass.
The tramway opened on June 1st 1966. The tramway is the oldest working tramway in the state of Colorado, but is constantly being updated and kept up to modern standards. As you ascend to the top of the the Monarch Crest Scenic Tramway, over 12,000 feet in elevation, you see unmatched panoramic views. Not only do you astride the Continental Divide but you can also see Pikes Peak on a clear day. Hiking, Biking, running or just sitting on a bench and enjoying the magnificent views, the Tram is an amazing adventure. It is affordable and breathtaking.
Future plans involve remodeling the space to include a welcome center, retail store and food venue.
“We are thrilled to add this to our portfolio as it is a natural extension of what we already do. We look forward to reimaging the space and serving the needs of all those who recreate on the divide,” said GM and COO of Monarch Mountain, Randy Stroud.
Ample parking will continue to be provided for all existing recreation endeavors in the area.
The business will be closed for the 22/23 winter season with plans to reopen in the spring of 2023.
