Certina Named Official Timekeeper Of FIS Cross Country World Cup
FIS is pleased to announce that Certina has been named the official Timekeeper of the FIS Cross Country World Cup tour. The agreement lasts for four years and will run through the 2025-2026 season.
Established in 1888, the Swiss watch brand is well-known for its high-quality workmanship, cutting-edge technology and an undeniable sporting spirit. These values inspired its well-known Double Security (DS) Concept in 1959, bringing outstanding robustness to Certina watches ever since. Over its 130-year history Certina has been synonymous with pushing limits and setting new boundaries, from developing watches for never-before reached depths in the ocean to breaking barriers in the mountaineering world, going to highest peaks in the world.
The commitment to developing the best sports time pieces has also given Certina a strong connection to nature. Sustainability and nature conservation is a priority for the company.
“We are proud to welcome Certina as our official Timekeeper of the Cross-Country World Cup tour,” said Michel Vion FIS Secretary General. “I can think of no other partner that better personifies the Cross-Country World Cup tour than Certina. Their commitment producing only the highest quality product while preserving nature fits exactly with the DNA of Cross-Country Skiing.”
Marc Aellen CEO of Certina added, “Sport is, and always has been, an essential part of the Certina brand identity. We are particularly pleased to be supporting the FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup as the Official Timekeeper starting this season. Certina not only has a long history in this discipline, we also share the same values: robustness, endurance and precision are maxims that drive us every day in the development of our watches. We are already looking forward to excitement and maximum performance on the trails and wish all participants every success.”
The Certina Official Timekeeper Partnership will include all FIS World Cup Cross-Country competitions, including the season highlight Tour de Ski.
