Outdoor Research Launches Spring 2022 Women’s Plus Size Apparel Collection

Outdoor Research launched its women’s plus-size technical outdoor apparel collection for Spring 2022, including waterproof rain shells, synthetic insulation, fleece, hiking and mountaineering pants, sun layers, and base layers.

The brand will continue to expand its plus-size collection with a Fall 2022 collection that includes two ski kits (jackets, pants and bib, winter insulation layers, winter fleece and base layers, and technical sportswear). 

The Spring 2022 plus-size collection launch follows its Fall 2021 men’s and women’s extended sizing program, which includes shells, insulation, base layers, winter apparel, and ski kits ranging in sizes from XXS-XXXL. The collections were developed with insights from athletes and ambassadors Bennett Rahn, Sam Ortiz, Megan Banker, Kaila Walton, Rochelle Murphy, and Britta Nelson. 

“My hope is that this collection will inspire more people to get outside and make them feel more welcome doing so,” said Liz Wilson, senior vice president, global product creation, Outdoor Research. “Working with our advisors and watching this collection come to life has been a career highlight. But this is just the beginning. We plan to continue and build on this collection as we work to become a more inclusive brand.” 

The Spring 2022 women’s plus-size collection includes 12 pieces sized 1X to 3X and 16W to 24W. The cuts fit different body shapes with proportionally larger grading through the bust and belly. The collection includes technical apparel for hiking, climbing and backpacking, including the Helium Rain Jacket, waterproof Aspire II Jacket and Aspire Pants, Helium Insulated Hoodie, sun-protective Echo Hoodie and Astroman Sun Hoodie, and the softshell Ferrosi Pants and Shorts.
