World Cup Snowboard Ski Cross In Schladming March 12th And 13th
Styrian holiday region Schladming-Dachstein is looking forward to the next sporting highlight: next weekend (March 12th and 13th) the World Cup races for snowboarders and ski crossers will take place on the Reiteralm. The athletes, including men and women, can expect a tight program: After the training and qualifications, the final decisions will take place on Saturday (snowboard cross) and Sunday (ski cross). The starting field is top-class, there are athletes from over 20 nations at the start. The competitions can be seen live on TV on ORF 1.
"We are all highly motivated to hold the World Cup races here on the Reiteralm again. The route is selective, peppered with many elements, steep curves and jumps," says Daniel Berchthaller, Managing Director of the Reiteralm Bergbahnen. "We can look forward to sportingly exciting and top-class ski cross and snowboard cross races.” Reinhold Unterkofler, President of the USC Crosspark Reiteralm, is also ready: "The cooperation with the ÖSV and with all partners works very well. As the organizing club, we have already proven our competence in this regard, including at the World Cup races last year."
The extensive preparatory work for the top races has been in full swing for days. Intensive work is also required when building the track, and numerous helpers from the USC Crosspark Reiteralm and the Reiteralm Bergbahnen are busy creating perfect conditions for the athletes. The conditions are ideal - the basic snow cover is excellent, and for the fine tuning, a perfect course is conjured up on the Reiteralm with snow groomers, excavators and above all by hand.
