EYOS - Summer Update On Greenland Heli Skiing

Skip the summer crowds and travel with EYOS. The world leader in private expedition yacht charters, EYOS specializes in extreme adventure and bespoke itineraries that whisk travelers to the world’s most remote corners. With experienced ice pilots and guides at the helm, EYOS’ team has collectively completed over 1,200 expeditions, giving travelers the confidence to discover uncharted territory.

Greenland: April 24-May 1, 2022, departing from and returning to Kangerlussuaq. The heli-ski themed expedition will travel to the island of Maniitsoq. With its peaks rising sharply from the Arctic Ocean, it’s considered one of the most remote places to heli-ski. Days will be filled with deep powder runs - some stretching more than a mile - on the narrow fjords down to the water’s edge.  The MV Nansen Explorer is equipped with an expansive heli-deck allowing for easy inland exploration.

Following a multimillion-dollar refit in Spring 2021, MV Nansen Explorer now accommodates only 12 passengers in seven spacious staterooms and suites. Originally designed as an Arctic research vessel, MV Nansen Explorer is an industry first, bridging the gap between a super yacht and an expedition vessel. With an Ice-1A class hull, the ship can venture deeper into the ice pack, sailing to parts of the polar regions where other yachts rarely reach, including south of the Antarctic Circle.  Passengers will also have access to kayaks, standup paddleboards, diving equipment, and two zodiacs to explore the remote wilderness up close.

For Greenland individual cabins may be booked for the following departures on Nansen Explorer:

  • Greenland: April 24-May 1, 2022, departing from and returning to Kangerlussuaq.
  • Greenland: June 19-26, 2022, departing from and returning to Kangerlussuaq. The itinerary will explore the northern coast, traveling 150 miles beyond the Arctic Circle to Disko Bay. The UNESCO World Heritage site is home to some of the largest icebergs in the world - with some reaching up to 300 feet.

The yacht will spend April and May in Greenland for heli-skiing experiences. The vessel will be available for West Greenland departures in June and July 2022. In August, she will be available to charter from Greenland to the Canadian Arctic and to the entrance to the Northwest Passage, before returning to Antarctica again in October 2022. Differing from the industry standard, MV Nansen Explorer utilizes an all-inclusive pricing starting.
