Silvrettaseilbahn AG Honors Long-standing Employees At The End Of The Season
After a break due to corona, the traditional employee ball of the Silvrettaseilbahn AG (SSAG) took place for the first time since 2019. In a festive setting, not only was the end of this year's winter season celebrated together, but also numerous 'round' anniversaries of the workforce were duly acknowledged and a donation check was handed over to the fund for innocent people in need in Paznaun. Another highlight was an exciting company ski race with 61 participants.
Last winter, the Silvrettaseilbahn AG - one of the largest employers in the region - employed up to 520 people. Many of them have been with the company for years and make a significant contribution to the fact that it is at the top of the ranking of the world's leading cable car companies. "After the cancellation of the 20/21 winter season and a challenging 21/22 winter, including a delayed start to the season, changing restrictions and an omicron wave, we are satisfied with the balance sheet despite a decline in sales compared to the 18/19 season. I was particularly pleased that we were able to rely on the day-to-day commitment of our employees, especially during this difficult winter, for which we sincerely thank", says Günther Zangerl,
Numerous anniversaries and honors
Markus Walser, also a member of the Management Board of Silvrettaseilbahn AG, also thanked the entire workforce and is particularly looking forward to numerous anniversaries, which were honored in the course of the employee ball: "We can say hello to Andreas Kurz, Josef Wechner, Paul Winkler and Georg Zangerl would like to thank four full-time employees for their more than 25-year SSAG anniversary. We also used this opportunity to honor Reinhard Kurz and Albrecht Pfeifer, who went into well-deserved retirement after 40 years in the service of the Silvrettaseilbahn AG. We were able to award a large number of other honors to long-standing, loyal seasonal workers and to employees who have recently retired.
In general, it is important to the cable car company that the employees feel comfortable and have a wide range of opportunities for development in their everyday work. In this context, intensive efforts and investments have been made for years. A new staff house with 180 state-of-the-art apartments was built last year. In addition to free accommodation, there is also a free, healthy and varied lunch menu, regulated working hours without evening service, a free ski pass for Ischgl/Samnaun and a wide range of leisure and training opportunities.
Raffle for a good cause
In addition to the many awards, more than 3,000 euros could be collected for a good cause at the employee ball thanks to lively participation in a specially organized raffle. The donation check handed over to Stefan Walser by the works council during the event goes to the fund for people in need in Paznaun through no fault of their own.
End of the season with company ski races
A final highlight of the end-of-season celebrations was the official Silvrettaseilbahn AG company ski race last weekend. On the still wintry Idalp, more than 61 cable car employees competed in the internal race and showed that even after a season of more than five months, they still didn’t feel the snow have become weary. Stefanie Salner fought her way to first place in the women's category, while Erwin Grün was happy about the day's victory in the men's category.
