“At deuter, our customers are such a rich source of inspiration for us. Every season we hear the immense value of creating high-quality, durable and sustainable products that bring true functionality to our customers,” says Jonathan Degenhardt, managing director at deuter USA. “Our Summer 2023 collection reflects our goal of bringing products to the market that have the longest possible lifespan. The Cabezon and Mondego Series is our answer to the increasing demand for highly functional bikepacking collections, while the updated Pulse is deuter’s response to the driving demand for practical hip packs in the mountain bike space.”
The Cabezon Series is deuter’s first premium bikepacking assortment designed for explorers who want a sophisticated, waterproof and lightweight bikepacking set up with easy handling and reliable riding. The Cabezon Series comes in four unique pieces, including the Cabezon Handlebar Bag 14 ($130), Cabezon Saddle Bag 16 ($140), Cabezon Frame Bag 4 ($105), and the Cabezon Frame Bag 6 ($115). Each pack is waterproof with hardwearing material, taped and welded seams, and TPU-coated zippers to keep the rain out and gear dry. The two-piece construction of the handlebar and saddle bag allows for easy loading and unloading. When taking a break, riders can leave the harness attached to the bike while detaching the dry bag to access gear. Designed with durable fabric straps made to prevent frame scratches, the entire system allows for tool-free mounting for easy attachment. The setup comes with spacers that make it customizable for a wide range of bike frame designs. The Cabezon Series is perfectly engineered for all-weather, with premium performance in both wet and dry conditions.
The Mondego Series is the second bikepacking line in the assortment. This line is designed for the entry-level adventurer who wants a practical and dependable bikepacking set up at a slightly more accessible price point. The Mondego Series also comes in four unique pieces, including the Mondego Saddle Bag 16 ($70), Mondego Handlebar Bag 8 ($70), Mondego Frame Bag 4 ($60) and the Mondego Frame Bag 6 ($65). The collection is made using durable fabric straps for attachment with hook and loop fasteners for easy adjustment and secure placement. The bungee cord on the Handlebar Bag is perfect for a jacket or access to gear on the go, while the roll-top dry bag attaches to the saddle harness with buckle straps at the sides. Each pack is PFC-free and is made using 100% recycled materials and bluesign-certified body fabric. Riders of all levels will be satisfied with the durable, long-lasting performance of the Mondego Series.
The popular Pulse Series is updated for Summer 2023 with the addition of the Pulse 3 ($95), Pulse 5 ($110) and Pulse Pro 5 ($125). The Pulse 5 is designed for bikers who want a versatile and thoughtfully engineered hip pack for long bike tours. At 5 liters, this lightweight and ergonomically shaped hip pack has a zippered main compartment, a mesh cell phone pocket on one side and a water bottle holder on the other. The hip pack includes a tool organizer on the front and comes with a 1.5-liter hydration system. The Pulse Pro 5 takes it up a notch with added features like additional space for storage, a pull-forward system for versatile waist belt adjustment, and deuter’s new, quick-drying Air Spacer Mesh back carry system. The Pulse Series is PFC-free, utilizes bluesign®-certified body fabric as well as recycled materials, and is climate-neutral certified.
deuter’s classic Race Series is also refreshed for Summer 2023 with the Race 8 ($115), Race 12 ($155) and Race 16 ($165). The Race Series is designed for ambitious mountain bikers in need of a lightweight and comfortable pack. The Airstripe back system on the Race 8 will keep rider’s backs cool while fitting snug in technical terrain. There’s plenty of space to keep belongings safe with the side zippered cell phone pocket, inner mesh pocket and glasses stow system. On a longer day in the backcountry, the Race 16 will provide plenty of storage for a helmet, repair kit and additional protection equipment. The Race Series is now climate-neutral certified and utilizes bluesign®-certified body fabric and 100% recycled materials, meeting some of the strictest manufacturing standards in the world. The Race Air Series ($175-185), which is the lighter version of the Race, is also updated for Summer 2023 with the new bike-specific Aircomfort backsystem, designed with a mesh back panel that splits down the middle for optimal airflow and room for your spine.
