New Zugerberg & Madlochbahn In Lech Zurs Are Open

The Zugerberg and Madloch lifts are well known to every winter sports enthusiast. On the one hand as a central connection between Lech / Oberlech, Zürs and Zug. On the other hand, because of the associated, spectacular ski runs.

After more than 50 years of service, the two chairlifts have been retired. They have been replaced by two ultra-modern lifts with which skiers in Lech Zürs can start their unique winter fun on the Arlberg even more quickly and comfortably. Thanks to the perfectly coordinated timing of the two new lifts, waiting times can also be effectively avoided.

Winter sports enthusiasts who complete the White Ring - the most legendary ski circuit in the Alps - or the RUN of FAME - the longest ski circuit in the Alps - can lean back and relax in the new facilities and look forward to many unforgettable winter moments.

The new Zugerbergbahn

With the new 10-person gondola lift, winter sports enthusiasts on the Arlberg can get from Zug to the Zugerberg in just a few minutes. Panorama windows allow a unique view of the majestic world of the Arlberg. There is only one thing left: lean back, enjoy and look forward to unlimited skiing fun.

The mountain station of the new Zugerbergbahn and the gondola station of the valley station are completely underground. Thus, the wonderful landscape can be admired in all its splendor. In addition, the area exposed to wind is also significantly reduced.

Thanks to the underground construction, the available space can be used optimally. In this way, two new houses could be built on the gondola station of the valley station for employees who can board the new Zugerbergbahn in the morning and reach their workplaces in a few minutes.

The new mountain station is connected to the Balmalp ski hut via an underground access. Thanks to this, guests without skis (clothing) can also come comfortably and dry to events and festivities, which in future can also take place in the evening thanks to the night driving permit.

The new Madlochbahn

The new Madlochbahn only needs five minutes to bring its passengers to the mountain station on the Madlochjoch at 2,446 meters above sea level. In addition to the faster travel time, it also offers a plus in comfort. Thanks to weather protection hoods and heated seats, winter sports enthusiasts set off for the next descent, warmed up and relaxed.

Each of the 50 weather protection hoods of the Madlochbahn is adorned on the back with the winners of the individual and team “Bildstein Trophy” awards. In this way, the courageous ski heroes not only receive due recognition, but will certainly also motivate future winners to face this unique challenge.
