Compagnie Des Alpes Signs With IDM France To Develop Lowcarbon Impact Anti Slip Mats,
Compagnie des Alpes has signed a partnership with IDM France to develop the first low-carbon impact anti-slip mats, from the circular economy and "Made in AURA".
The Funiplagne departure station will be the first in France to be equipped with 130m² of these mats, which are manufactured from used ski lift tires by regional companies.
In addition to the test phase, the project will lead to a change in the waste management process for all of our 10 ski areas: 20 tonnes of used tires will be recovered each year, on the scale of the Group, to supply the manufacture of these mats.
The partnership initiated with IDM, and with the support of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes Region, meets two major commitments of the Group:
- Achieving zero non-recycled waste and sustainable management of natural resources
- Supporting regional dynamism and local initiatives to contribute to the long-term development and attractiveness of the regions
This project also completes a range of circular economy and local circuit initiatives carried out in their ski areas:
- Recycling of ski lift equipment (since 2011 by INGELO) on new installations, instead of new equipment, allowing the reuse of more than 1200 T of steel.
- Retrofitting of snow groomers, which doubles the lifespan of a machine (6 vehicles this year).
- Reconditioning of snowmaking poles by IngeSnow (Chambéry) since 2020
- Renovation of electrical cabinets for ski lifts
- Reuse of excavated material from work areas as materials
