Wilder Kaiser; E-SkiBus, New Magazine, & Voucher Campaign For Hospital Staff
hibernation? That's not the case at the Wilder Kaiser, here the credo is: Make something good even better and keep developing. That's why, despite the – let's say: not entirely uncomplicated starting position – we continued to work on offers for this winter. On the one hand, to offer guests and locals new experiences and, on the other hand, to further develop the region in terms of sustainable self-image and to further expand the quality of life. "The first live test of electric ski buses, the free ice skating rink for locals too, our magazine for year-round inspiration and other new, quality-oriented offers such as the winter leisure hike show that we are consistently working on our vision of 'quality of life through sustainable tourism'. work.
Winter pleasure hike
We have been enjoying the “Wilder Kaiser Marketplace” for almost a year now . Regional producers and providers are listed on a platform and portrayed in videos on the Wilder Kaiser blog or on social media. The products and the project are very popular, and now a winter program item on the subject has been included in the Wilder Kaiser activity program: the “Winter Pleasure Hike” from Going to Ellmau. Every Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., hiking guide Petra visits various market places and of course an excellent, regional snack awaits the participants at the end. All information and registration here .
Photo hike with professionals
The wintry region is explored together with one of our favorite photographers, Mathäus Gartner , and a hiking guide. It goes to beautiful "places" that you might not find on your own - magical winter mood, crunching snow, red cheeks and fresh, cold air and new perspectives included. Along the way there are tips from professionals on how to let every motif shine "in the best light". On this photo tour you will also learn what needs to be considered when searching for the perfect picture in the nature reserve, in order to behave respectfully towards nature and animals. Whichever views the tour leads to, one thing is certain: the perfect holiday photos are guaranteed! All information, dates and registration here .
Ice skating rink in the village center of Söll
Whether you conjure up pirouettes on the ice with perfect posture marks or still slither awkwardly - it doesn't matter, everyone is welcome at the ice rink in the middle of Söll! And not only ice skaters, but also those who prefer curling to doing laps on skates. Ice skating is free of charge, ice skate and curling stock rentals are available for 1 and 3 euros respectively. A fee of 20 euros is charged for curling. All information and opening times here .
Testing the electric ski bus
On-site mobility in the Wilder Kaiser region has been one of the tourism association's central areas of activity for several years. After all, if you want your guests not to travel in their own car or, ideally, to travel by train at all, you have to ensure that the public offer is understandable, sensible and comfortable. With the KaiserJet in summer and the ski buses in winter, the Wilder Kaiser region offers its guests exactly that - now it's a matter of making this offer as environmentally friendly as possible. Therefore, in February in Ellmau and in March in Söll there will be first test runs with an electric bus as a ski bus in order to gain impressions and insights into the long-term more sustainable design of the bus network.
Piste tour offer Söll
Getting up the mountain under one's own steam in winter is becoming increasingly popular. This is also noticeable in the ski areas: if you don't have the knowledge, experience and technique to go into open terrain, you'd rather go up groomed and secured slopes. So that this does not lead to new dangers (e.g. from snow groomers) or conflicts, the SkiWelt Söll has now created its own offer for piste tours: Two marked ascent routes (one comfortably flat over the moonlight toboggan run, one over the valley run, some steeply steep). ) can be used at certain times. If you don't have a season ticket or other valid ski pass, you have to pay a fee of 10 euros at the machine in the ski tour parking lot. All information and times here.
#wetogether: Vouchers for hospital staff
The tourism professionals of the Tyrolean lowlands together send a sign of appreciation and respect for the work in the surrounding hospitals: by the end of the winter season, vouchers will be collected by nine tourism associations, which will be given as a small "thank you" to the employees of the hospitals in Kufstein and St. Johann go. Because they have been doing superhuman things for two years now - under the most difficult conditions. As tourism associations, we cannot turn the relevant screws in the health system to improve the situation in the hospitals in the long term, that is the task of politics. But what we can do in our sphere of activity is our support, our solidarity and a little "thank you", a sign of appreciation, to the employees of the surrounding hospitals. That is why the tourism associations Alpbachtal, Kaiserwinkl, Kufsteinerland, Wilder Kaiser, Wildschönau and the four Kitzbühel Alpine Associations Brixental, Hohe Salve, Pillerseetal and St. Johann in Tirol collect vouchers for leisure activities together with their members. How you can take part in the campaign, be it a large company or a private individualcan be read here.
Magazine for year-round inspiration
The Wilder Kaiser Tourist Association has created a new publication - a completely new type of inspirational magazine about the region. The claim? Nothing less than depicting the most beautiful sides, experiences and places of the four Kaiser towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll. But not divided into “summer” and “winter” in the classic way – the new magazine entitled “Inecht noch schöner” is intended to provide readers with inspiration for the whole year. Because that is exactly what the Wilder Kaiser region is all about: it has special experiences to offer at any time of the year. Be it a mystical, autumnal sunrise tour that takes you high above the clouds for breakfast
Mountain leads or the best tips on how to combine spring skiing in the morning with a leisurely bike tour in the afternoon. Last but not least, the magazine should make a contribution to being able to welcome guests even more evenly throughout the year. Because that is clearly one of the goals that is anchored in the region's self-image and strategy for the future: to ensure an excellent quality of life for everyone who lives, vacations and works here. And that also includes leveling off peak occupancy rates and not just concentrating guests and value creation over a few months.
The magazine is available free of charge directly from the information offices in Ellmau, Going, Scheffau and Söll . Media representatives can order a viewing or review copy from t.aigner@wilderkaiser.info .
