New Carbon Efficient Offering Launched For Ski Travel

Ski travel agency, Hidden Mountain Ski (HMS), has announced its new transport offering to carbon-aware customers who are looking to drive instead of fly to their hand-picked ski resorts.

HMS is responding to the growing need to offer trips that have a lower carbon footprint with reports stating travellers can cut their emissions significantly when going by road instead of air. To utilise existing vehicles, HMS has partnered with ‘Vans for Bands’ to offer a range of splitter vans that can hold up to nine people and all equipment.

Incorporated in 2021, Robert Ramsay launched HMS from his vision of creating a new skiing experience, allowing enthusiasts across the UK to experience the authenticity of skiing in less-known resorts. His passion for carbon reduction, tourism, and supporting the success of local, family businesses and communities inspired the launch of Hidden Mountain Ski.

Commenting on the new offering, Robert said: “We are delighted to offer the fantastic selection of vans that are commonly used for touring musicians out-with winter months. Utilising these modern vehicles, we want to offer our customers the option of travelling by road to our selected resorts, missing the stress of an airport but also knowing that avoiding air travel is the biggest single thing that they can do to limit their own impact on the environment.

“A recent study from Best Foot Forward concluded that a typical one-way journey by plane to a ski resort creates around 122 kg of CO2 per person therefore changing to a motor vehicle will dramatically reduce this. As a company, this is very much part of our ethos.”

Coming from a diverse business background, Robert runs a family farm with substantial tourism and renewable energy operations. Additionally, Robert is a founding director of SoilEssentials Ltd, a leading precision technology business in the environmental and agricultural space.

HMS recently exhibited at the National Snow Show showcasing its unique and authentic getaways based on the knowledge and expertise of its travel and ski experts.
