Helly Hansen Upgrades Award-Winning Arctic Patrol Modular Parka . Lighter Weight & Even Better Weatherproof Protection
Building on the need for gear in warmer and wetter environments, the three-layer shell jacket now features LIFA INFINITY – Helly Hansen’s responsible, professional-grade waterproof/breathable technology. Created using an innovative waterproof/breathable LIFA INFINITY membrane, achieved without the use of chemicals, it is combined with a minimum of 50% recycled content and a PFC-free durable water-repellent treatment. The shell jacket meets the extreme waterproofness and breathability of HELLY TECH Professional construction, while also being better for the environment. With LIFA INFINITY technology, the shell jacket is also lighter in weight, which makes it ideal for warmer conditions, and a removable faux fur lining has been added to the hood, so the jacket can be worn as a single piece without the outer parka.
The Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0’s outer layer can now withstand both rain and snow, with a two-layer fully taped HELLY TECH Performance fabric construction. The outer parka also features additional reflective detailing for 360-degree visibility and even more storage options with added internal pockets, which is essential for Arctic scientists who need to be able to easily access often-used tools and supplies at any time.
Kristoffer Ulriksen, Category Managing Director for Urban at Helly Hansen, comments, “The Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 is the pinnacle piece of our Arctic Patrol collection, and for the last two years, we’ve had the incredible opportunity to truly understand the challenges that Arctic scientists and professionals face. As the conditions of the Arctic continue to change, we want to create gear that can be adaptable without compromising on protection, durability, and functionality. Our professionals rely on us to provide gear they can trust, and we’re confident that this new parka will meet the needs of both professionals and consumers alike.”
Additional features of the Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 include hood and cuff adjustments, mechanical ventilation for added breathability, RECCO reflectors, and a Life Pocket+, which preserves the battery life of mobile phones and electronics to stay connected even in colder climates.
Helly Hansen ambassador and Arctic Scientist and Glaciologist, Heidi Sevestre, adds, “Over the last couple of years, I’ve witnessed Arctic climates becoming warmer and rainier, a trend that will seemingly continue for years to come. Having spent much of my time researching in Arctic
environments, I know that I need apparel that can handle frigid, sub-zero temperatures while also being able to function when the weather quickly changes. When working and living in the Arctic, it’s incredibly important to have gear that can keep you warm, dry, and safe no matter what conditions you may face.”
The Arctic Patrol Modular Parka 2.0 will be available in men’s and women’s styles both in-store and online from September 2023.
