Courchevel - Ski The World Championship Piste

This year, the world capital of skiing will have never lived up to its name as our resort will be the scene of the Courchevel Méribel 2023 FIS Alpine Skiing World Championships. The Eclipse slope will host all the men's events! A spectacular and technical track which will be open to the general public during the Christmas holidays. An event not to be missed. Courses, technical characteristics, advice... all the information can be found here!

The Eclipse: a racy layout - L'Éclipse is THE track on the way to becoming legendary. It rises majestically just a stone's throw from the Col de la Loze at an altitude of 2,234m, on the ridge line that separates the resorts of Méribel and Courchevel. A track designed for skiers looking for thrills!

From its summit, skiers will enjoy a panoramic view of the valley before throwing themselves into the slope for a vertiginous descent of 3.2 km with an average inclination of 30%... enough to make the most seasoned spatulas tremble! After a first part in the open, the skiers will slide through a dense forest and in subdued light to find the sun in Courchevel Le Praz (1,290m) where the finish is located. Between shadow and light, the layout gives pride of place to large jumps and large curves with key passages with evocative names: the zenith jump, the wall of sound, the S of the arolles, the jump of the jockeys, the hole black, the wall of the bux, the flight…

We finish in apotheosis with the wall of the brave and its jump, before crossing the finish line and taking the time for a moment to… Alexis Pinturault, the ambassador of our resort, double world champion!

Freshly inaugurated last year during the finals of the Alpine Skiing World Cup, L'Éclipse is a unique run created for a concentrate of thrills.

Alexis Pinturault, winner of the general classification of the 2021 Alpine Skiing World Cup, qualifies the route in these terms: "It is certainly one of the tracks that requires the most commitment on the circuit, with a lot of slope and speed. , which contributes to the show! ".
