BFI Offers Apprenticeships To Lift Technicians
Employees with practical experience in the technical area of cable car operations can complete the recognized apprenticeship as a cable car technician in one year with the BFI Salzburg.
Since 2011, courses to prepare for the extraordinary final apprenticeship examination at the BFI Salzburg have trained more than 110 second-chance specialists who are now working in the ropeway industry. As early as September 2022, the next course "Secondary Educational Cableway Technology" will start at the Zell am See location.
This year it is particularly attractive to complete the course: Due to the current collective agreement, skilled workers are now better classified than those employees who have completed their machinist training. In addition, skilled workers can expect an earlier advancement in the salary classification.
Training takes place in Zell am See and the state vocational school in Hallein
The prospective cable car operators receive sound training, because highly technical and complex systems require well-trained specialists. The theoretical lessons take place at the BFI Pinzgau in Zell am See.
The practical training is carried out at the Landesberufsschule Hallein, THE competence center for ropeway training. Due to the Austria-wide apprenticeship training for cable car technology, this location offers optimal conditions and unique equipment with lift systems from all leading manufacturers.
The course was developed by absolute experts from practice for practice. The training therefore also prepares you specifically for the final apprenticeship exam.
"With the second-chance training course, ropeway employees have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in "ropeway technology" while working. In addition to a well-founded training in ropeway technology, electrical engineering and the legal provisions, the focus is on practical experience. With the final examination as a ropeway technician, you also get better career opportunities in the ropeway company,” emphasizes long-time trainer Ing. Alois Innerhofer, MSc, BEd.
The course was specially planned for people working for cable car companies, so that they can continue to practice their profession at the same time without hindrance. The block lessons also enable long-term planning for employers.
The HTL Hallein offers an advanced course especially for graduates of "cable car technology", so you can catch up on the Matura or obtain an HTL degree. As a result, the path to becoming an engineer is also possible. Further information can be found on the HTL Hallein website.
